The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 251

Watching from the docks, Felicity Shepherd's eyes burned with fury as Greenwood City's four golden boys—Julian Nicholson, Xander McCarthy, Yves Prescott, and Claud Gallagher—escorted Winona Perkins away. Trailing behind them were Winona's whole motley crew: her so-called grandmother, her giddy sister, and her deaf son.

She drove home in a frenzy. Her grandparents, Old Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd, were puzzled to see her back so early in the day.

"Felly, shouldn't you be at your father's construction company or overseeing your retirement community project right now?" Old Mr. Shepherd asked with concern. "What brings you home all of a sudden?"

"Leave me alone! Both of you!" she snarled, glaring at her grandfather. "If anyone speaks to me, I'll kill them! I swear I'll kill them!"

The venom in her voice made Old Mr. Shepherd's face pale. He turned to his wife, who just sighed.

"Look at her," Old Mrs. Shepherd said, her voice laced with pity. "She must have been terribly wronged out there. I bet it was that Winona again, pushing her around. Why won't that girl just die? How does she manage to be so resilient?"

Old Mr. Shepherd gave his wife a meaningful glance. "For all her faults, we watched Winona grow from a baby in swaddling clothes to a young woman of sixteen," he murmured. "Can you really have forgotten that little girl with the round, sweet face, constantly pattering after us and calling our names?"

"I haven't forgotten a thing! That's why I hate her!" Old Mrs. Shepherd retorted. "She shares no blood with us, yet she leeched off our family's resources while our Felly was stranded in some godforsaken hamlet. If we'd been a year later, she would have been married off to some old bachelor from the next village. It was a close call! The thought of it still breaks my heart."

"My love for our Felly is as deep as my hatred for Winona," she continued, her voice rising. "That girl was nothing but a poor wretch from the countryside who stole sixteen years of the good life that should have been Felly's. She should have died long ago, shouldn't she?"

Old Mr. Shepherd fell silent.

"Ahhh! It's disgusting! That filthy, dead bitch! I'll kill her, I'll kill her! Waaaaah…"
