After making sure everything was set at work, Grant and Farley headed home to get ready. After all, their shift started at one.
Watching her granddaughter find jobs for her two old friends, Fortune suddenly grew anxious. "Catie, why don't you have Mr. Atkinson find something for me to do too? I can't stand sitting around the house all day—it drives me crazy!"
Caitlin smiled. "From now on, you're the boss of Elite Properties. When have you ever seen the boss rolling up his sleeves to do the grunt work?"
The truth was, Caitlin had bought Elite Properties for Fortune, mainly to help her grandfather pass the time. The man simply couldn't sit still.
Fortune's eyes widened. "The boss?"
Caitlin nodded. "That's right. I've just acquired Elite Properties."
Fortune stared, dumbfounded.
Acquired? She'd bought the whole company?
He could hardly believe his ears. "Catie, you're not pulling my leg, are you?"
He'd always assumed Caitlin just knew Caleb, and that was why Caleb was helping her out. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine Caitlin would buy out the whole property company.
It was like something out of a dream.
Caleb stepped in, a smile in his voice. "Mr. Fortune, Miss Kensington isn't joking with you. She really is our new owner. From now on, we'll be looking to you for guidance."
Fortune was at a loss for words. He turned to Caitlin, flustered. "Catie! I'm not cut out to be a boss!"
"You'll be fine. Besides, you've got Mr. Atkinson to take care of the day-to-day stuff. You just need to supervise a little, tend the garden, maybe do some exercise. This is your time to relax and enjoy yourself."
Caleb looked at Fortune with undisguised envy. If only he'd had a granddaughter like Caitlin, he'd die a happy man.
On their way home from the property office, Fortune finally voiced the question that had been on his mind. "Catie, what's really going on? Where did you get the money to buy a whole property company?"
Caitlin laughed. "Grandpa, I told you I came back so you could enjoy the good life. This past year, I've learned more than you can imagine—and I've gotten pretty good at making money. This is just the beginning. Things are only going to get better from here!"
Only then did Fortune finally believe that his granddaughter hadn't been boasting after all.

Elsewhere, at the Chandler residence.
Julian had worked late into the night, not crawling into bed until nearly three in the morning. He didn't wake up until half past ten.
The moment his eyes opened, he reached for his phone.
Surely Caitlin had spent the night bombarding him with long, heartfelt texts.
He pressed the power button, and sure enough—over a dozen WhatsApp notifications lit up his screen.
A smirk played at the corner of Julian's lips as he sat up in bed. He just knew Caitlin would flood him with messages.
He unlocked the phone and went straight to WhatsApp—only to freeze a moment later.
None of the messages were from Caitlin.
She hadn't sent him a single word.
In fact, she hadn't even accepted his friend request.
Eighteen unread messages, all from Sophie.
[Julian, are you up? I made you some soup.]

At Sylvester Gardens.
Gordon was in the gym, working out. Shirtless, his muscular chest and perfectly defined abs on full display, he had a white towel slung over his shoulder. Beads of sweat ran down his chest, disappearing into the waistband of his shorts.
Skyler pushed open the door and immediately caught sight of his uncle's impressive physique.
He glanced down at his own body and groaned inwardly.
They always say nephews take after their uncles—so why didn't he have abs like that? Unfair! He wanted abs too.
"Uncle Gordon."
"Yeah?" Gordon replied, effortlessly curling a twenty-pound dumbbell with one hand.
Skyler edged closer. "Uncle, Boss Caitlin's coming tomorrow for your follow-up."
Gordon's tone was indifferent: "I know."
Skyler's eyes gleamed with mischief. "I've got something for you! A little surprise."
"What is it?"
Skyler grinned and produced a book from behind his back. "Take a look!"
Gordon took the book, and when he saw the title, he paused.
Printed across the cover, in bold letters:
The Straight Guy's Guide to Flirting!
