THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 610

Marcia had indeed supported Baber and his family extensively over the years, both openly and secretly. She had paid for their house and their car, and even covered her grandchildren's school tuition.

"Don't be silly," she chided gently. "We're family. You don't need to say such things."

She sighed again. "With your mother gone all these years without a word, I see you as my own son. It's only natural that I take care of you."

Just then, Lillian emerged from the restroom. As soon as she saw Marcia, she rushed over and took her hand. "Auntie, you're finally here! Just the other day, Bill was saying how much he misses his great-aunt."

Marcia beamed. "I haven't seen Bill in so long. He must have grown taller."

"He has! He's over four feet tall now."

Lillian took the luggage cart from Marcia. "Auntie, let me get that for you."

Though Lillian found her husband's aunt's generosity a bit excessive, Marcia was their lifeline. So, every time they met, she was exceptionally attentive. Whatever Marcia's motives were, the money was real, and that's what mattered.

The three of them chatted and laughed as they made their way to the airport parking lot. After a thirty-minute drive, they arrived at the villa where Baber's family lived.

Marcia had brought a suitcase full of gifts. She also handed Lillian a bank card. "Lillian," she said earnestly, "I might have to travel again soon. You take good care of the kids. Don't worry about money. Even if you lose your job, it's fine. If you run into any trouble, you can call me anytime."
