Hearing this, Keira nodded and said, "Alright, you go then."
Amanda looked at Ann. "Ann, let's go."
"Okay, Mom." Ann stood up from her chair.
The two of them left Stuart's courtyard.
"Mom," Ann whispered, linking her arm through Amanda's, "when do you think he's going to finally die? Good thing you're smart and got me out of there. I was starving."
If they had stayed any longer, she would have starved to death before Stuart did.
Amanda's eyes narrowed. "From the looks of him, he won't last another two hours. Let's get some food quickly."
"Okay."
After they left, Keira sat by Stuart's bed and took his hand. "Stuart, Freya said you're all healed now. You just need to break through the fog and wake up."
"Please, wake up. Mom has been waiting for over twenty years."
"Carey is waiting for you to find her."
"Freya is waiting for you to wake up."
Stuart remained motionless.
"Stuart, my son, please don't make Mom worry anymore…" Her voice grew hoarse.
Stuart felt trapped in a dense fog. He searched and searched, but he couldn't find a way out.
"Where am I?"
"Carey! Freya!"
He wandered in circles until he finally sank to the ground in despair.
*Drip.*
At that moment, he felt a drop of liquid fall from above.
*Drip.*
Another one.
He scrambled to his feet and looked up, but the sky was just an endless gray haze.
Suddenly, a voice reached him.
"Stuart, Stuart, please wake up!"
His eyes widened.
"Mom! Mom, is that you?"
"Mom!" he shouted.
