Mr. Maverick had just walked into the airport terminal when a flashy young man stepped out of the car behind him. This was none other than Dylan, dashing to catch up with him.
With his phone in hand, Dylan quickly sent a voice message to Mirabella as he hurried inside, looking anxious and worried he might be running late.
Hearing her phone buzz, Mirabella stepped aside to answer it, just as Mr. Maverick approached her. By the time he reached her, she was already on the call with Dylan.
"Is James flying back with us?" Mr. Maverick asked, surprised to see James there, his expression showing a hint of astonishment.
James gave a polite nod, "I have a few things to wrap up here, so I'm just here to see my dad off."
Mr. Maverick chuckled warmly, "Well, make sure to swing by our place for dinner when you're back."
"Sure thing," James replied.
By now, Mirabella had finished her call and turned her attention to Mr. Maverick, who stood with James and Trevor. Mr. Maverick looked to be in his fifties, radiating an air of authority and confidence.
He didn't spark any sense of familiarity for her. Perhaps sensing her gaze, Mr. Maverick glanced around and eventually locked eyes with her.
When their eyes met, Mr. Maverick paused before turning back to James and asking, "Is that the young lady you brought to the museum the other day?"
James remained calm, nodding, "Yes, you remember?"
Mr. Maverick smiled appreciatively, "She's quite a catch. You've got good taste."
As he spoke, Mirabella walked over to them. James introduced her, "This is Mr. Maverick."
