Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 100

“You…” Grandma Grace clutched her chest, unable to get the words out.

The color drained from her face in an instant.

Aurora trembled in terror, scrambling to call for a doctor.

While the medical team rushed in to resuscitate her grandmother, Aurora stood frozen to the side, watching helplessly as the life seemed to fade from Grandma Grace’s face—like she might never wake again.

Tears slid silently down Aurora’s cheeks, heavy with pain.

Thankfully, the doctors had arrived just in time. They managed to stabilize Grandma Grace’s condition.

The lead physician looked at them sternly. “She’s elderly. You mustn’t agitate her like this again.”

Their heated argument had practically echoed through the entire floor—nobody had spared a single thought for the patient.

“Move her to the private suite at the end of the hall,” came a calm male voice.

Daniel stepped in.

He took in the sight of Aurora—her raw, red-rimmed eyes and the way she tried so hard to hold herself together—and his expression softened with concern.

Ignoring Mr. and Fiona completely, he gently wrapped an arm around Aurora’s shoulders. “The room at the end of the hall is much quieter. If Grandma stays there, she’ll be able to rest properly.”

Aurora knew those suites—there were only two, reserved for the very core members of the Chambers family; people like Mr. Hogan Chambers himself. Even Daniel’s own parents weren’t allowed to use them.

Letting Grandma Grace move in was Daniel’s way of showing deep respect.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, warmth seeped through the cracks in Aurora’s battered heart. Her voice was hoarse as she whispered her thanks.

After all, when it came to Mr. and Fiona, she was truly at her wits’ end. If she argued, she risked upsetting her grandmother; if she stayed silent, they only pushed her and her grandmother harder.

Daniel’s intervention was a lifeline in a blizzard.

She was deeply grateful.

The message was clear—this time, Daniel wasn’t in a forgiving mood.

Jordan was puzzled. Hadn’t Daniel already hinted to Eleanor to bring Grandma Grace to Fairvale? Wasn’t that his way of letting the matter go?

He just couldn’t figure Daniel out.

“Look, Dan, Samuel’s just been spoiled by his mother. It might do him some good to face consequences—just don’t let it drag on too long,” Jordan said, expertly changing his tone.

He played another card: “Eleanor’s convinced Samuel acted out for her sake. She’s been in pieces, crying nonstop.”

Daniel’s brows drew together, and his voice lost some of its edge. “We’ll talk about it in a few days.”

That was as close to a concession as Jordan was going to get, and he was visibly relieved.

Daniel had no interest in dragging the conversation out. He turned away, heading down the corridor to find the doctor.

Mr. Hogan Chambers was due for another hospital stay—his chronic illness had flared up again. Daniel had come early to make the arrangements, wanting everything perfect before the old man arrived. The last thing anyone needed was Grandpa nitpicking every detail.
