Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 215

Inside the car, Daniel rubbed his temples, exhaustion written all over his face.

Nora sat beside him, not asking a single question.

It was all Chambers family business, after all—nothing to do with her.

“Aurora… Aurora…” Daniel murmured her name, his voice unexpectedly gentle, almost intimate. “Grandmother always called you Aurora. Was it because you both share the same middle name?”

He was reaching for shared memories, hoping to close the distance between them.

Nora just gave a noncommittal “Mm.”

She had no desire to talk to him.

Suddenly, Daniel reached out and pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly against his chest.

His warmth radiated through the fabric, his heartbeat strong and insistent.

“Aurora,” he whispered, his voice trembling with vulnerability as he buried his face against her neck.

Nora stared up at the car’s ceiling, her eyes cold and distant, trying to pry his arms away.

Then her body froze.

Something warm and wet trickled onto her skin.

Was that… Daniel’s tears?

Was he crying?

Because of his fight with Mrs. Chambers? Or was it something else?

Nora closed her eyes and finally gave up struggling, letting him hold her as long as he wanted.

She didn’t know how long they stayed like that before his lips and tongue began to scatter feverish kisses across her cheek.

Nora let out a bitter laugh. “Do you really think this is going to change anything?”

The kisses stopped.

But Daniel still wouldn’t let her go, his voice low and incredibly soft. “Aurora, let’s get married again. Please.”

Nora gripped the front of his shirt, her expression utterly calm. “No.”

She’d fought so hard for that divorce—she’d have to be out of her mind to go back.

Her rejection was immediate, cutting. Daniel flinched, but tried to coax her anyway. “I’ll arrange the most beautiful wedding—”

“Daniel.” Nora cut him off, her eyes icy. “Do you really think we got divorced because we didn’t have a wedding?”
