Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 227

Mrs. Chambers exploded. “Who are you calling an embarrassment?”

Brian could barely hide his disgust at his wife’s constant shouting. She had never been gentle, never showed an ounce of warmth.

“Lilian, Karen’s pregnant. I want a divorce. I’m going to give Karen her rightful place as my wife.”

Karen, the woman in question, looked bashful and demure. “Brian, I don’t care about any of that.”

Mrs. Chambers clenched her teeth so hard she almost cracked a molar.

“So what, being the other woman is a badge of honor now?” Nora’s gaze swept over Karen, cold and unimpressed. “You’re pregnant and still have the nerve to provoke the wife? Did you really think the Chambers family would just sit back and take it?”

Because of Eleanor, Nora had developed a deep disdain for women who played the helpless damsel.

And Karen was the perfect example.

She clung to Brian, sobbing dramatically. “Brian, my stomach hurts. The baby must have been frightened by all this.”

Brian wrapped his arms around her, his voice full of concern. “Don’t be scared, sweetheart. I’ll protect you.”

He looked back at Mrs. Chambers. “Lilian, I’m telling you, just sign the papers and you’ll get a nice settlement. It’ll be easy enough for you to find someone else. Though, honestly, with your temper, I doubt any man could put up with you.”

His smug, condescending tone was enough to make anyone sick.

Karen rolled her eyes. “Exactly. No man wants to deal with an uptight old woman.”

Nora let out a cold laugh. She strode forward and, without warning, grabbed a fistful of Karen’s hair, yanking her hard.

If Brian hadn’t caught her, Karen would’ve crashed to the floor.

“What are you doing?” Karen shrieked in pain.

Nora didn’t let go. As Brian tried to push her away, she said, loud and clear, “I’m carrying Daniel’s child. Want to try me?”

Brian instantly recoiled.

His paycheck still depended on Daniel, after all.

Nora pressed Karen’s face against the wall. “Apologize.”

Karen screamed, her voice shrill with pain. “Okay! Fine! I’m sorry!”

Tears streaming down her face, she blubbered an apology to Mrs. Chambers.
