Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 234

Eleanor’s face went pale, her eyes brimming with tears.

He had refused.

Daniel’s brow furrowed. He’d noticed it before—Hans’s feelings for Eleanor just weren’t what they used to be.

That was why he’d pushed for the marriage alliance in the first place.

It was something he’d promised Eleanor.

David hadn’t expected Hans to have this attitude. He scolded in a low voice, “Hans, do you even know what you’re saying?”

To him, a marriage like this was the most reliable partnership there was.

Hans just shrugged. See? No one cared what he wanted. They asked for his opinion, but never listened.

He’d never really wanted to go through with the engagement anyway.

Just then, the private room door burst open.

Una rushed in.

All three members of the Cooper family shot to their feet, turning toward the door.

“Una.”

“Una.”

“Una.”

Una’s expression flickered—why was the entire Cooper family here?

But she quickly pulled herself together.

She hastened to Daniel, anxiety clear in her voice. “Where’s Aurora?”

Daniel’s heart skipped a beat. “Upstairs.”

Una was breathing hard, panic in her eyes. “I think something’s happened to her.”

Daniel shot up, bolting for the stairs.

The lounge door was wide open.

He rushed inside, but Aurora was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was a strange man, half out the window, straining downward as if trying to grab something.

From outside the floor-to-ceiling window, a pair of white-knuckled hands clung desperately to the frame.

It was—Aurora.

Daniel lunged, shoving the man aside, and finally saw her.

Her entire body was dangling outside the window, in terrible danger.

“Aurora!”

He grabbed her wrist, trying to pull her back in.

But after fighting so hard to climb up, Aurora suddenly stopped struggling.

She looked up at him, staring quietly.
