Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 248

Just thinking about the scene earlier filled Nora with satisfaction.

She smirked. “Well, she had it coming.”

Serves her right.

That reminded Una of the wedding gown, and she sighed with genuine regret. “That dress was designed by Candice. It’s a masterpiece.”

Candice was her idol.

She’d chosen to study design in college just to have a shot at becoming a student of that internationally renowned designer. But life had other plans, and due to some family circumstances, Una had to start working as soon as she graduated.

Her dream of meeting her idol felt impossibly distant now.

Nora remembered the wedding dress still lying in the living room. She’d asked the housekeeper to put it away, but the train was so long they hadn’t found a proper place for it yet.

At that moment, it was still spread out in the living room.

She suggested, “The dress is here at the house. You’ve got tonight if you want to study its design.”

It wasn’t as if the dress was doing anything just sitting there. At least letting Una examine it gave it some purpose.

Una’s bad mood vanished instantly.

She scrambled off the sofa, nearly bouncing with excitement. “Wait for me! I’ll grab my stuff and be right over!”

Una arrived in record time. The moment she laid eyes on the wedding dress, she barely dared to breathe—afraid even her breath might disturb its beauty.

She circled around it, murmuring in awe, “Mr. Chambers really went all out.”

Just a design like this was worth a small fortune.

Nora lounged on the sofa, smiling at her words. “He did it for his child.”

How much of his affection for her was real, Nora couldn’t say.

Una snapped photos like a woman possessed and added, “If Eleanor hadn’t meddled, Daniel would’ve made a great husband.”

You could tell just by the way he’d arranged everything for Nora—he was a good guy.

But that “good guy” only existed when Eleanor was out of the picture.

Whenever Eleanor showed up, everything fell apart.

Daniel was Eleanor’s knight in shining armor.

Nora’s voice cooled. “Don’t mention him.”
