Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 251

“Shut up.”

Mrs. Quinn let out a piercing scream.

Eleanor’s face drained of color, her knees nearly buckling beneath her.

Jordan, though seething with rage, managed to keep his composure.

His tone was icy. “I don’t care. She stays right here until the baby’s born.”

“And Eleanor, you’re giving me ten thousand dollars a month for living expenses.”

Eleanor clenched her jaw. She didn’t have that kind of money.

She was working in fragrance development at the Chambers Group, but she’d only just started, and her monthly salary was barely five thousand dollars.

Besides, when the Quinn family went bankrupt, Daniel had secretly pulled some strings for them, even though he claimed he wouldn’t get involved. The Quinns still had assets; there was absolutely no need for her to pay Jordan every month.

He was doing this on purpose.

He still resented her and her mother for turning their backs when everything fell apart.

“I don’t have it,” Eleanor said, her voice brittle.

Jordan sneered. “Didn’t Daniel find you a rich husband? If you don’t have the money, he does. If you won’t give it to me, I’ll just ask him. I’d like to see if he’d still want you once he knows what you did back then.”

With that, he put his arm around his lover and headed upstairs, leaving the two women behind.

Eleanor collapsed into her mother’s arms, sobbing. “Mom, what am I going to do? If Dad goes to Hans— I’m finished.”

Mrs. Quinn wrapped her arms around her daughter, cursing through her own tears.

“He wouldn’t dare.”

But even as she said it, they both knew Jordan was capable of anything.

He would stop at nothing to protect his own interests.

“Don’t be afraid, Eleanor.” Mrs. Quinn wiped away her daughter’s tears. “I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

They clung to each other, crying until there were no tears left.

……

Nora stayed up late with Una, helping her choose wedding dresses. By the time they finished, it was well past one in the morning.

One of the housekeepers came over and gently reminded Nora not to stay up too late.

That’s when Una remembered—Nora was pregnant. Reluctant as she was to end the night, Una insisted that Nora get some rest.

The next afternoon, Nora drove Una to the airport.

Una had decided to travel for a bit before heading to Millbrook, so she’d bought a last-minute ticket for that afternoon.
