Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 298

Well wishes were pouring in from every corner of the internet.

Nora scrolled through the messages, her brow knitted in concern.

It had already been three months, and there was still no word from Una…

“Nora, we’re here,” Carol, her assistant, reminded her.

Today was her prenatal checkup—a rare moment of calm in her hectic life.

Nora put her phone away and stepped out of the car.

Ms. Temple had set aside time in her busy schedule to personally see her.

After the examination, Ms. Temple handed Nora the printed results, her voice gentle. “The baby is doing well. You, on the other hand, seem a bit weak. I’ll prescribe you some supplements—make sure to take them when you get home.”

Nora thanked her and headed out, telling Carol to pick up the supplements.

She was just speaking when her steps faltered—she’d spotted a familiar figure across the hall.

It was Daniel. He was walking with a young woman at his side, both carrying printed reports as they headed this way.

Daniel saw her, too. His face remained impassive; he simply gave a polite nod, the kind you’d give an acquaintance.

Nora nodded back.

They passed each other without a word.

Daniel escorted the woman into Ms. Temple’s office.

Nora found a seat in the waiting area, settling in while the nurse fetched her supplements.

From inside the office, she could hear Ms. Temple’s voice: “Mr. Chambers, here are Ms. Cooper’s test results.”

Daniel’s cool reply followed. “We’re divorced. There’s no need to give them to me.”

Ms. Temple sounded a little flustered. “Of course.”

She couldn’t help but wonder—he used to ask for the reports every month. Was there some new drama between them?

She didn’t dare ask and simply sent the young woman for her checkup.

By the time Carol returned, Nora was ready to leave.

Back in the car, Nora closed her eyes and rested a hand over her belly.

At four months, her bump was barely noticeable, but under her palm, she could feel the slightest swell.

She’d chosen to keep the baby in the end.

Not just because of her own health, but because the connection was already there—a bond of blood. She just couldn’t bring herself to let go.

Gradually, she drifted off to sleep against the seat.
