Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 300

Nora took a deep breath and thanked Will before getting back behind the wheel and heading to the hospital yet again.

When she found Eleanor’s room, a pair of bodyguards blocked her way, arms crossed with impassive faces.

“Mr. Chambers has ordered that no unauthorized visitors are allowed in,” one of them said. “It’s for Ms. Quinn’s safety.”

Nora had no choice but to wait.

She was hoping to see Daniel, but instead, Hans appeared first.

“Hans.” She stood up abruptly, meeting his gaze head-on. “It was Una who hurt Eleanor, wasn’t it?”

The careless, almost mischievous look that Hans usually wore vanished in an instant. Shock flickered in his eyes; he had clearly known nothing about it.

Nora stepped in front of him, blocking his way. She spoke slowly and firmly, “I believe Una would never hurt anyone on purpose. She’s not like that. Hans, please—talk to Daniel and Eleanor for me. Don’t let them press charges against her.”

Hans had already shifted back to his usual laid-back posture. He let out a cold, humorless laugh.

“Someone’s dead, someone pays. That’s how the world works. Why should she get a free pass?”

His indifference stung more than Nora cared to admit.

“She didn’t mean to do it.”

“Intentional or not, she still hurt someone, didn’t she?” He shot back. “No one forced her hand.”

Nora was at a loss for words.

He was right—accident or not, Eleanor was still hurt.

But Nora was certain there was more to the story.

“Hans, you were the one who took Una away. Now she suddenly shows up at the hospital and Eleanor gets hurt. Something must have happened. You know what it is, don’t you?”

“I don’t.” Hans pushed past her—firm, but not rough—and strode inside.

Nora clenched her jaw and forced herself to wait outside.

A couple of minutes later, Daniel finally emerged.
