Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 305

Daniel’s gaze was steady and unflinching; he knew Nora wouldn’t give in easily.

But so what? As long as she needed something from him, she had no choice but to agree.

“I’ll give you some time to think it over,” he said, utterly unhurried.

Nora needed only ten seconds.

“I agree,” she replied.

Daniel froze, caught off guard by how quickly she conceded.

“You…” The words hovered on his lips, but he didn’t finish.

“Three days,” Nora bargained, trying to negotiate the terms.

Daniel let out a short, incredulous laugh. “Do you really think I’d stoop so low as to pressure a pregnant woman?”

Nora pressed her lips together. What else could she think? Did he expect her to be his for a lifetime?

He stepped closer, a flicker of vulnerability softening his features. “Let’s get married again.”

Married again?

Every fiber of Nora’s being rebelled against those words. The smile faded from her face as she looked at Daniel in silence—her expression laced with bitter irony.

“If I’m not mistaken, you’re currently seeing someone else,” she said coolly.

He’d said it himself: the woman Mrs. Chambers had chosen for him was perfect marriage material.

And now, here he was, talking about getting back together. It was almost laughable.

Daniel walked slowly to the window, his eyes dark and inscrutable.

“It’s just going through the motions,” he admitted.

His mother had paraded a string of eligible women before him, but the more he met, the clearer his own heart became.

Not once had his pulse quickened for any of them. A few had even tried to mimic Nora’s mannerisms, but he’d felt nothing.

Nora let out a sharp, derisive laugh. “Daniel, you haven’t changed at all—you’re as manipulative as ever.”

Always threatening her with her weaknesses.

He merely nodded. “I’ve always been that kind of man.”

Fueled by anger, Nora’s chest rose and fell rapidly. She turned to leave.

From behind, Daniel’s voice drifted after her. “If Una confesses and the verdict comes quickly, and she’s in no state to appeal, prison is the only outcome.”
