Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 306

Daniel’s expression softened as he replied, “Alright.”

He pressed the intercom and called for Will. “Take the lawyer and handle Aurora’s case.”

Will nodded and left.

Eleanor shot Nora a smug smile, as if to say, “See? Things never change.”

Nora stifled a laugh, her tone dripping with satisfaction. “Thank you, Mr. Chambers.”

Thank you?

Eleanor froze, her mind reeling. It finally dawned on her—Daniel hadn’t sent Will to the police station to ensure Aurora stayed behind bars. He’d sent him to arrange her release.

She was getting off without charges.

“She hurt me, you can’t just let her go.”

Tears welled in Eleanor’s eyes, her bravado from earlier nowhere to be found.

Daniel’s voice was colder than she’d ever heard. “You seem to be standing here just fine, don’t you?”

He didn’t look at her, his tone detached and distant.

Eleanor’s face twisted with frustration. She glared at Nora, anger seeping through her words.

“This is your doing.”

Nora arched an eyebrow. “Yes. It is.”

She hadn’t been entirely willing to get involved, but Eleanor’s self-satisfied arrogance was simply unbearable. Hadn’t Eleanor always boasted that Daniel’s affection would never fade? Well, Nora would personally shatter that illusion.

With that thought, even the idea of remarrying Daniel didn’t seem so repulsive anymore.

Eleanor’s jaw clenched in fury. She’d spent so long planning, and Nora had ruined everything before it even began.

She and Nora were born to be at odds.

What stung even more was watching Daniel try to win Nora back. His love for her ran deep—deeper than Eleanor had ever realized.

Bitterness and envy twisted inside her.

“You really should treat her with more respect,” Daniel said, not sparing Eleanor a single glance.

He’d chosen his side. It was clear.

Eleanor’s face contorted, unable to hide her resentment.

Nora, having seen enough of Eleanor’s humiliation, turned to leave.

Daniel’s gaze immediately found her. “Where are you going?”
