Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 317

Nora had packed her things days ago—Payne Quinn included—and together, they set out for North Manor.

The staff had already begun calling her “Mrs. Quinn” again, their voices warm and cheerful.

Daniel had prepared gifts for both Nora and Payne.

He draped a luminous pearl necklace around Nora’s neck, the ivory beads glowing against her creamy skin, making her look all the more radiant. The past three months had done her good; she looked healthier, more at ease with herself.

Daniel didn’t say much. He simply made sure they were settled in, then left the house.

Nora knew exactly where he was headed: he was going to see Eleanor.

Half-siblings, yes, but family nonetheless.

Family? Nora’s lips curled into a bitter smile.

Now, he could finally defend Eleanor openly, without any pretense.

After tucking Payne into bed, Nora quietly slipped out, driving herself to the hospital.

She was there to visit Una.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Eleanor and Mrs. Quinn sat together, their brows knit with worry over the three hundred million.

There was simply no way for them to raise that kind of money.

If Jordan decided to leak everything to the press, Eleanor could already imagine the kind of vicious rumors that would follow.

“Try to get a read on Dan’s intentions,” Mrs. Quinn suggested quietly.

Eleanor nodded, agreeing.

She thought Daniel wouldn’t be coming until the next day, so when he appeared sooner than expected, she felt a flicker of hope—maybe even gratitude. He was still her family, after all; he wouldn’t just abandon her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, her face flushed and puffy. “I thought you weren’t coming,” she whispered.

Daniel’s voice was stern. “I warned you before, Eleanor. You push things too far.”

Eleanor lowered her head, silent, unable to argue.

She just couldn’t swallow her pride.

Mrs. Quinn jumped in, trying to smooth things over. “Dan, Eleanor didn’t mean for things to go this way. She just loves Hans so much, she let jealousy get the better of her. She knows she was wrong.” She shot Eleanor a meaningful look.
