Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 41

Aurora called for the housekeeper to help move her things.

But as soon as the housekeeper reached the doorway, Daniel’s voice cut through the air, sharp and cold.

“Get out.”

Startled, the housekeeper glanced at Aurora for guidance.

Aurora remained calm, her tone steady. “It’s alright. You can go.”

Daniel was angry at her—there was no reason to drag anyone else into their conflict.

Still, she knew they couldn’t keep avoiding a real conversation.

“Daniel, we need some space,” she said, her voice quiet but composed.

A little time apart might help them both reconsider what this relationship meant.

Daniel’s eyes darkened. “So, what is it? Are you moving out, or just running off to see Warner?”

Aurora looked down at the books she was packing.

She had read every single one of them, treasured the knowledge they gave her. Her passion for perfumery was something she’d never be able to give up.

“Both,” she answered honestly.

She’d found someone who shared her dreams, landed a new job, and decided to leave Daniel behind.

None of these things were mutually exclusive.

Daniel’s eyes looked suspiciously red at the corners.

Since she’d gotten out of the hospital, things between them had actually been peaceful. He’d come home almost every night for dinner with her. And yes, they’d shared late-night intimacy as husband and wife.

She hadn’t resisted—sometimes she’d even reached for him first.

He’d thought they’d made up.

Now, all that tenderness curdled into anger. His voice was cold as steel. “When you worked at the company, you signed a confidentiality agreement. You’re not allowed to work in the same field for three years after quitting.”

Aurora froze. “You’re threatening me with this now?”

He was shameless.

Daniel just shrugged. “I’m only telling you the facts. I’d hate for you to sign a contract and then get sued over it.”

Aurora didn’t bother replying. She closed the box, refused to look at him again, and walked straight out.

Daniel felt a jolt of panic—she wasn’t heading for the bedroom.

Aurora had received her invitation weeks ago.

Daniel arrived with Eleanor on his arm. They were chatting with Mr. Frost when Aurora and Warner entered.

Warner leaned in. “Would you rather wait a bit before going over?”

Aurora shook her head gently. It would be rude not to greet the host right away, and she had no reason to hide. She hadn’t done anything to feel guilty about.

She slipped her arm through Warner’s and approached the group.

Daniel and Eleanor both saw her. Eleanor bit her lip, quietly sliding her hand off Daniel’s arm.

Daniel’s gaze turned thunderous as he watched Aurora link her arm with Warner’s.

Aurora ignored him, smiling warmly at Mr. Frost. “Good evening, Mr. Frost. I’m Aurora.”

Despite his reputation as an industry giant, Mr. Frost was nothing but kind. “Ms. Quinn—your name precedes you. Very impressive.”

Aurora smiled, modest but pleased. A compliment from Mr. Frost was all the recognition she needed.

Eleanor stepped forward, her voice soft. “Mr. Frost, my mentor, Ms. Catherine, couldn’t be here tonight because of urgent business. She asked me to deliver this on her behalf.”

A server stepped forward, presenting a delicate glass box on a tray. Inside was a bottle of perfume.
