Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 54

“If I get up, she’ll go and bother Grandma.”

“I need an answer. I need to know you won’t disturb her.”

Her reply was simple and direct.

Daniel’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he struggled for words.

4:30 a.m.

The entire floor of doctors and nurses sprang into action, bustling through the halls.

All because Daniel had woken up— and when he saw the state his wife was in, his anger flared.

Aaron hurried over at Daniel’s request. Under Daniel’s orders, he issued strict warnings to all the doctors and nurses, and immediately checked everyone’s phones and the security footage.

He made sure not a single detail about Aurora kneeling would ever leave the hospital.

Then he announced that everyone involved would be demoted.

Aurora listened to the commotion outside, her expression unreadable—neither sad nor happy.

If Daniel didn’t do this, it would be his reputation on the line.

“Ma’am.” The young doctor assigned to check Aurora’s knees approached, visibly nervous but mustering his courage. “Could you… could you please ask Mr. Chambers to show us some mercy, we…”

He was young. He still had hopes for his future.

“Alright. Help me outside.”

Aurora had no intention of making things harder for anyone—especially since these doctors and nurses had all been forced by Mrs. Chambers.

Step by step, she shuffled to the door, legs numb, her knees feeling like blocks of wood.

“Daniel.”

Daniel strode over, face dark. “Who gave you permission to get out of bed?”

His icy gaze landed on the young doctor.

The doctor fidgeted, uneasy.

Aurora braced herself against the wall and said quietly, “Let them go. They’ve done nothing wrong.”

“Mrs. Chambers threatened to fire them. They had no choice.”

“Enough with your old-fashioned ways. My life is my own. Just worry about yourself.”

Daniel hung up.

Furious, Mrs. Chambers hurled her phone across the room. Everything she did was for her son, yet he refused to appreciate it.

Daniel stood at the window, a complicated mix of emotions clouding his eyes.

He and Aurora had fought before, but none of their arguments had ever led to consequences like this.

She’d even gone so far as to kneel and beg for forgiveness.

Daniel couldn’t shake the feeling that the rift between him and Aurora was growing wider by the day.

If they didn’t find a way to mend things soon, it would become an unbridgeable gulf.

Quietly, he left the room and called Aaron. “Find the best spot on Maple Street and have a studio built for my wife.”

Aurora loved creating perfumes; he wanted to give her a space of her own.

It was the least he could do.
