A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 819

“Step aside, I don’t have time for this!”

Calliope was blocked at the entrance.

Zelda stood in her way, flanked by a squad of security guards standing shoulder-to-shoulder, forming a solid wall in front of her.

Calliope glared at Zelda, her frustration barely contained.

“Calliope, if you want to leave, fine. But you owe us some answers before you go!” Zelda snapped. “You were never even part of the Jewell family, were you? What the hell were you doing, pretending to be a Jewell all these years?”

“You’re a con artist! You swindled us out of so many shares. What else have you stolen from us?”

Lisette crossed her arms, a smug grin spreading across her face.

For the longest time, Lisette had been insecure, always reminded that Calliope was supposedly the real Jewell daughter while she was just the adopted one. Sometimes she’d worry that the Jewells didn’t truly care for her.

But now, with this revelation, she was practically gleeful.

Calliope wasn’t a Jewell by blood. She was just as much an outsider as Lisette was. Nothing. No connection to the family at all. Just a small-town nobody, really.

Suddenly, Lisette felt emboldened. The family had never really liked Calliope, and now, knowing she had no blood ties to them, they’d probably like her even less—if that was even possible.

Calliope shot Lisette a cold look. “So, Ulysses told you. Yes, I’m not actually a Jewell. So let me through. I have more important things to deal with right now. Don’t force me to get physical!”

Her mind was racing. Hudson was in trouble, and she needed to see him, now. She knew there was probably no saving him, but she had to try. She had to do something—anything.

“Calliope, you’re not going anywhere until you clear this up!” Zelda barked. “Hold her right there!”

It was still early, and plenty of employees were just arriving, only to see their chairwoman physically fighting the security team in the lobby. People pressed themselves against the walls, desperate not to get caught up in the chaos.

“What the heck is going on?”

“Isn’t that Ms. Calliope, the chairwoman?”

“Why is she fighting with security?”

“Wait, Mrs. Jewell and Ms. Lisette are here too… What is happening?”

“I overheard Mrs. Jewell say Calliope isn’t really part of the family. And Calliope didn’t even deny it. Looks like it’s true!”

“That makes sense, honestly. I always wondered how the Jewells, no offense, could have a daughter as sharp and gorgeous as Calliope. She never really looked like any of them, did she?”
