"What's the big deal? That was always supposed to belong to the Jewell family! You don't even have the Jewell last name. Why are you trying to take what's ours?"
Calliope couldn't be bothered with Monty. "I'm not here to argue with you today. The board members should be arriving soon. I'm here to resign."
Ignoring Monty completely, she headed straight for the conference room.
Monty wanted to stop her, but didn't have the guts.
Valerian marched over, trying to grab her, but Calliope sidestepped him easily. Her eyes locked onto his, so intense that it made his skin crawl.
"Calliope, you’re a fraud! If you don’t give back what’s rightfully ours, I’ll take this public! The whole world will know what you did!" Valerian stared her down.
"I know you’ve got a lot in your hands—a bunch of companies, too. Grandpa gave them to you, didn’t he? No wonder you’re the owner of the Pearl Tiger Club… So that’s it, Grandpa left you everything!"
"You snake, you tricked us, and you tricked Grandpa!"
"The Pearl Tiger Club? I built that myself," Calliope replied coolly. "Grandpa did help me keep a lot of things in order, and he gave me plenty too. But that was his choice."
"Valerian, did you ever take care of Grandpa? Did you even call him once? You really think you deserve to fight me for what he left behind? Where were you when he passed away?"
Calliope let out a small, humorless laugh.
"Even so, everything Grandpa had should belong to the Jewell family! You thief, you better give it all back. Or don’t blame us for getting the lawyers involved!"
Monty’s face darkened, especially as everyone kept calling Calliope chairwoman like he didn’t even exist. Some didn’t know what was going on, but those who did were following right after Calliope, completely ignoring him.
In the conference room, Calliope sat at the head of the table. Gradually, more and more executives and board members arrived, filling the room until it was packed.
Monty and the rest of the Jewell clan came in, shooting daggers at Calliope.
"Calliope, what are you playing at this time?"
Lisette narrowed her eyes, then suddenly stood up and addressed everyone in the room, trying to seize the moment. "Since everyone’s here, I have an announcement to make!"

This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
