Lisette shivered, her nerves getting the best of her. She didn’t dare say a word—just kept her head down, fidgeting awkwardly.
“Ma’am, are they giving you trouble?”
Silas turned to Calliope, his voice rising with protective energy. “Who’s bothering you? Just say the word, and I’ll make sure they regret it for the rest of their lives.”
Calliope looked up at him, a little surprised. “What are you guys doing here?”
“Like we’d just sit back and do nothing,” Silas replied, his tone softening as he glanced around at Valerian and the others. Then his gaze swept over the crowd—reporters, fans, everyone.
“Is everyone clear now?” he asked, voice ringing out. “Does anyone here still think my wife scammed the Jewell family?”
He shot a pointed look at the crowd. “What could the Jewell family possibly have that my wife would want to steal? Am I not wealthy enough? Every cent I make, I’d hand over to her in a heartbeat. You really think she’d stoop to swindle the Jewell family for their leftovers?”
The crowd fell silent, exchanging awkward glances.
Up until now, everyone had just gotten swept up in the Jewell family’s sob story. But they weren’t idiots.
It was obvious—the Jewell family were either delusional or just trying to squeeze some cash out of Calliope.
They were the ones trying to pull off a scam.
They must’ve thought Calliope had no one backing her, that Mr. Myers would just turn a blind eye. They thought they could use public opinion—stage a press conference, stir up drama, and get away with it.
But the reporters and fans in the audience weren’t that gullible.
Sure, at first, some of them felt for the Jewell family—felt sorry for their so-called misfortune. But now? The evidence was crystal clear, and Silas’s words left no room for doubt.
Who didn’t know Silas was the wealthiest man in Capitalton? He was loaded—and completely devoted to Calliope.
Why would Calliope need to scam anyone?
And not just Silas—Calliope’s three brothers were powerhouses in their own right. Julius, a chart-topping pop star with his own record label, was currently the hottest name in the industry. You think he’s strapped for cash?

The readers' comments on the novel: A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust
Oh wrestling expert ey? So is this Khamzat Chimaev or Shavkat Rakhmonov? Because Khabib's would be too haram....
Oh no. Million is just mix of Conor McGregor, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Max Holloway, Anderson Silva... I bet he lands 5sec flying knees like Jorge Masvidal too. Oh nope, 1sec knees. And has faster left hooks than Alex Pereira. Definitely would win UFC championship in every weight division including women. Poor Zhang Weili....
Okay so.... Million is now from East. Arctic wolf from East, modified genetically so he can manage his own Instagram and probably also box like Mike Tyson and snapping left hooks like Alex Pereira....
This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
