Chapter 63
Madison
I stepped further into the suite, my footsteps barely audible on the plush carpet. The murmur of voices grew clearer as I rounded the corner into the living area. There was Alexander, sitting in his usual commanding pose in the armchair, exuding an air of authority that was impossible to ignore.
Abigail lounged on the couch as she owned it, her perfectly styled hair cascading over her shoulders and her designer dress hugging her figure flawlessly. My stomach clenched at the sight of her, a mix of jealousy and confusion swirling within me. When did Abigail come to the resort? Did Alexander invite her?
I couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy, though I wasn’t entirely sure why. It wasn’t like Alexander and I had any romantic relationship, yet seeing Abigail comfortably settled on the couch made me
uneasy.
Alexander’s eyes found mine immediately. “Miss Harper. Sit.” He gestured to the empty chair across from him.
I perched on the edge of the seat, hyper–aware of Abigail’s calculating gaze. The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. What had they been discussing before I walked in?
“As I was saying, Alexander,” Abigail’s voice dripped honey, “you should think about marriage soon. A man of your status needs the right woman by his side.”
Marriage? Why were they discussing this?
Alexander’s laugh filled the room. “That’s not happening. Keep your hopes at zero.”
“The future’s unpredictable.” She tossed her hair back, shooting him a sultry look. “I can wait.”
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. The woman was about as subtle as a neon sign in the desert.
“Well,” Abigail stretched like a cat, her movements deliberate and practiced. “I should get going. I plan to hit up that new cocktail lounge at the resort later. You know the one – dark lighting, intimate booths…” She fixed her gaze on Alexander. “I’d love some company if you’re free. I promise to make it worth your while.”
His expression remained neutral, but I caught the slight tightening around his eyes. “Got work to handle tonight. Not sure I’ll make it.”
“The offer stands.” Abigail rose gracefully, smoothing down her dress. “You know where to find me if you change your mind.”
She sashayed toward the door, her heels clicking against the floor. At the last moment, she turned

back. “Oh, and Miss Harper? Love that dress. Though it looks a bit like a department store.” Her
smile didn’t reach her eyes.
The comment stung, but before I could respond, Abigail had already disappeared through the door, leaving behind only the lingering scent of her expensive perfume.
“Does your dress look like it’s from a department store?” His voice cut through my thoughts. His eyes traveled down my body, taking in every detail of the sundress he’d personally selected.
I smoothed my hands over the delicate fabric. “No, it doesn’t.”
“Come here.”
I rose from my seat and crossed the room to where he sat. The plush carpet muffled my steps as I approached him, stopping just within arm’s reach.
His fingers caught the hem of my dress, rubbing the material between them. “Maybe we need to buy you even more luxurious clothes.” His other hand slid up my thigh, pushing the fabric higher.” Something that will make Abigail’s designer collection look like bargain bin finds.”
I pulled back slightly from his touch. “No need for now, Mr. Knight. If I need anything, I’ll ask.”
“Sure.” His fingers traced lazy patterns on my thigh, making my skin tingle. “Though I do enjoy dressing you up.”
My mind wandered to everything he’d done for me – especially my mother’s treatment. The luxury hospital, the specialized care, the peace of mind it gave me. Even with our arrangement, the fact that he’d handled it all so quickly and efficiently meant more than he knew. I should get him something and show some appreciation beyond our physical arrangement. But what do you get a billionaire who can buy anything he wants?
His hand slid higher, derailing my train of thought. “You’re thinking too hard.” In one fluid motion, he pulled me onto his lap, my dress riding up around my thighs. “I can see those wheels turning in your head.”
I tried to steady my racing thoughts. “It’s nothing. Just thinking about the day ahead.”
His fingers traced up my thigh, making my skin tingle. “Liar.” He leaned in closer, his breath warm against my neck. “Your face gives everything away.”
Before I could protest, his lips captured mine in a searing kiss. His tongue swept into my mouth, demanding and possessive. My hands found their way to his shoulders as he pulled me closer, grinding me against him. The kiss deepened, growing more intense with each passing second. His hands tangled in my hair, tugging just enough to make me gasp into his mouth.
When he finally broke the kiss, I was breathless. His eyes were filled with lust as he studied my face.

“You took your time coming up here.” His fingers played with the hem of my sundress. “How’s your mother doing?”
“She’s good.” I shifted on his lap, trying to ignore how his touch made my pulse race. “The new treatments are helping.”
“Mmm.” His hand slid higher up my thigh. “You kept me waiting quite a while in this suite.”
“You waited for me?” The words came out softer than I intended.
A wicked grin spread across his face. “I did. And now you must be punished for making me wait so long.”
My breath caught. “Punished?”
His fingers danced along the edge of my thong. “Oh yes, Miss Harper. You need to learn what happens when you make me wait.” His other hand gripped my hip, pulling me harder against him. ” And I have some very specific ideas about your punishment.”
I bit my lip, heat pooling low in my belly at his words. “Mr. Knight…”
“Shhh.” His fingers traced higher. “No more talking. Unless you’re begging.”
I shifted on his lap, trying to keep my breath steady. “What kind of punishment?”
“The kind that will have you screaming my name.”
His hand moved under my dress, fingers grazing the edge of my thong. “Stand up and take off your dress.”
I hesitated for a split second before rising from his lap. The sundress slipped off easily, pooling at my feet. I stood there in nothing but a lacy thong and matching bra, feeling the heat of his gaze on my exposed skin.
“Turn around.” His voice was low and commanding.
I turned, feeling his eyes burning into my back.
“Good girl,” he murmured, standing up behind me. His hands slid around to cup my breasts, thumbs brushing over my nipples through the thin fabric of the bra. I gasped as he pinched them lightly.
“You’re always so responsive,” he whispered in my ear. “I love it.”
His hands slipped inside my bra, cupping my breasts firmly. His fingers found my nipples, rolling them between his thumb and index finger, applying just enough pressure to make me gasp. “These tits drive me crazy, Madison. Always so eager for my touch.”
