Chapter SS
Madison
The hot shower had worked wonders on my tense muscles. I pulled on my favorite silk pajama set–the pale blue one with tiny stars scattered across it. It was nothing fancy but comfortable enough for me to sink into my plush bed and finally relax after this endless day.
I’d just finished towel–drying my hair when my phone lit up on the nightstand. Alexander Knight’s name flashed across the
screen.
What could he want at this hour?
I stared at the phone, debating whether to answer. But who was I kidding? We both knew I would.
“Hello, Mr. Knight?” I settled back against my headboard, pulling my knees up to my chest.
“Ms. Harper? It’s Anthony.” His voice carried an edge of concern that made me sit up straighter. “Alexander’s had too much to drink. I’m sending him home with John, but none of us can access his penthouse. Could you head over there?”
“Of course. I’ll leave right now.”
I hung up and pressed the phone to my chest. Why would he drink so much? The memory of that night when someone had drugged him flashed through my mind. What if it happened again? My stomach churned at the thought.
I jumped out of bed and rifled through my closet. My cozy pajamas weren’t exactly appropriate for a late–night rescue mission. I pulled on a black pencil skirt and cream blouse – professional enough if anyone saw me entering his building at this hour.
The cab ride felt endless. Every red light stretched into eternity while my mind spun through worst–case scenarios. Had someone slipped something in his drink again?
The night doorman barely glanced up as I crossed the lobby. He knew me well enough by now, though I doubted he suspected the true nature of my visits.
The garage lights cast long shadows between the luxury vehicles. My heels clicked against the concrete as I made my way to where John waited with the car.
Alexander sprawled across the back seat, his suit jacket discarded and tie loose around his neck. His eyes were closed, hair falling across his forehead. Even disheveled, he looked devastating.
John opened the door. “Ms. Harper, thank you for coming. Mr. Knight had quite a night.”
I peered into the car. Alexander’s eyes fluttered open, a lazy smile spreading across his face. “Ms. Harper, what a pleasant surprise.”
“Let me help you up, Mr. Knight.” I reached for his arm, but he caught my hand instead, pulling me closer.
“You smell nice.” He murmured, his thumb tracing circles on my palm, sending shivers down my spine.
John cleared his throat. “Should I help you get him upstairs, Ms. Harper?”
“No, I can manage. Thank you.” Textracted my hand from Alexander’s grip and helped him out of the car. He swayed slightly but remained steady enough to walk.
“Have a good night,” John called as we went to the private elevator.
The doors closed with a soft whoosh, leaving us alone in the mirrored box. Alexander’s reflection multiplied around us as he pressed me against the wall, his breath hot against my neck.
“You came to rescue me?” His hands found my hips, fingers digging into the fabric of my skirt.

“Mr. Knight, you’re drunk.” But I didn’t push him away when his lips brushed my collarbone.
“Not that drunk.” He nipped at my ear, making me gasp. “And definitely not too drunk to appreciate how good you look in this outfit.” His hand slid up my thigh, bunching the skirt higher.
“We’re in an elevator.” My protest came out breathier than intended.
“A private elevator.” He captured my bottom lip between his teeth. “My private elevator.”
The elevator continued its smooth ascent as his fingers traced dangerous patterns on my skin. My head fell back against the mirror, giving him better access to my neck.
“Did you rush over here worried about me?” His voice held a note of amusement. “How sweet.”
“Mr. Williams called-”
“And you came running.” His hand traveled upwards, pressing against my pussy through my panties, making coherent thought impossible. “My good girl.”
I couldn’t stop the moan that escaped my lips as his fingers pressed harder, my body trembling against the mirrored wall. The thin fabric of my panties did nothing to dull the sensation of his expert touch, every movement sending sparks of pleasure through my core. Heat bloomed across my cheeks as the elevator reached the top floor with a soft ding, and the doors slid open to the penthouse hallway.
“Mr. Knight, you’re drunk.” I managed to say between breaths.
“Not drunk enough to forget how wet you get for me.” His fingers slid beneath the elastic, finding proof of his words. “See?”
I forced myself to focus through the haze of desire. “Why did you drink so much tonight?”
His fingers continued their delicious torture between my legs. “Just some casual drinks. Why? Were you worried someone slipped me something again?” His blue eyes locked with mine, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. “Is that why you rushed over here in this sexy outfit?”
I bit back a moan as his thumb circled my clit. “I was concerned-”
“Such a caring girlfriend.” His breath was hot against my ear. “If someone hadn’t drugged me that night, we might not have this delicious arrangement now. Maybe I should send them a thank you note.”
“Mr. Knight-”
