A Warrior's Second Chance (Faye and Alexander) novel Chapter 155

Jason, standing at the head of the table, turned sharply, his expression hardening when he saw the figure storming in.

Alexander didn’t stop to speak again. He didn’t wait for explanations. He went straight for Jason.

The Silver Hollow guards stationed nearby moved instantly, forming a defensive line. Two of them lunged at Alexander to stop his advancebut they barely got close.

The first guard’s hand had just brushed Alexander’s shoulder when a crack split the air. Alexander twisted, grabbing the man’s wrist and snapping it backward in one fluid motion. The guard screamed, collapsing to the floor.

The second one barely had time to register what happened before Alexander’s fist collided with his face, sending him flying backward into the wooden table with a crash that sent papers and broken glass scattering.

Sage gasped from across the room, one hand flying to her mouth. Her heart hammered painfully against her ribs. She didn’t know what terrified her morethe chaos that had just ended, or the storm now standing before them.

Every other Alpha in the room instinctively stepped back. The air was heavy with dominance, power pressing down like gravity. Even Jason’s men hesitated to intervene further.

Alexander kept walking until he was in front of Jason. The room went silent, save for the faint drip of blood from the broken guard’s nose and the ragged breaths of those still

conscious.

Jason stood his ground, though his jaw tightened as Alexander reached him.

Without warning, Alexander grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him back against the table. The impact rattled the wooden frame, and Jason’s wine glass tipped over, spilling across the documents.

Tell me what’s going on here,Alexander growled, his voice low, vibrating with barely controlled fury. Tell me what happened to Fayeor I swear to the Moon, I’ll snap your neck right here.

Jason’s guards stirred again, but one look from Alexander’s burning crimson eyes froze them in place.

Jason met his gaze coldly, though his composure was starting to slip. You dare put your

hands on me, Blackwell?he hissed.

Alexander’s grip tightened. You dare stand here pretending you don’t know what’s happening?

Jason’s eyes narrowed. I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.

Glam

Alexander’s snarl deepened. You hosted this summityou brought every Alpha into one placeand the moment you did, your walls were breached, your city burned, andof all peoplemy mate vanished. You had better start talking.

What? Faye is missing?Sage asked.

The other Alphas exchanged uneasy glances, none daring to interfere.

Jason’s expression twisted into something between anger and disbelief. So that’s what this is? You think I planned this?

I think you knew something.Alexander shot back. And you let it happen.

Jason’s eyes flashed dangerously. You’ve lost your mind.

Then where is she?Alexander’s voice broke again, louder this time. Where the hell is Faye?

Jason didn’t answer. He didn’t have one to give.

The silence stretched between them, heavy and suffocating.

Then, slowly, Jason smirkeda cold, humorless thing that didn’t reach his eyes. You know,he said, his tone dripping with disdain, I’ve heard things about you, Blackwell. That underneath all that calm, civilized façade you parade aroundyou’re nothing but a savage. I didn’t believe it until now

That did it.

Alexander’s restraint snapped like a bowstring.

The punch came fast, a blur of movement that ended with a sickening crack as Jason’s head jerked to the side from the impact. The Alphas flinched back. Jason stumbled but stayed standing, wiping the blood from his nose with the back of his hand, his eyes blazing now.

You son of a-

Alexander didn’t let him finish. He lunged again, his hand already curling into another fist, but

Alexander, stop!

Claim

Sage’s voice cut through the chaos like a whip. She rushed between them without thinking, throwing herself in front of Jason just as Alexander’s arm came down.

Alexander froze midmotion. His knuckles trembled inches from her shoulder.

For a heartbeat, no one moved. The only sound was Alexander’s heavy breathing and Sage’s panicked heartbeat pounding in her chest.

Alexander’s eyes shifted to herwild, glowing faintly gold and crimson at the edges, the wolf in him straining against his control. Seeing Sage there, Faye’s twin sister, stopped him cold.

He took a sharp step back, running a hand over his face as if trying to push the rage down by force. Damn ithe muttered, his voice cracking under the weight of anger and guilt.

Sage swallowed hard, still shaken. You can’t just come in here and start throwing punches, Alexander-

Don’t tell me what I can’t do!he snapped before catching himself. He looked at her again, softer this time, regret flickering in his eyes. She didn’t even want to come back to Silver Hollow. I told her it would be best to honor the damn invitation. I told her nothing would happen as long as I was here.

His fists clenched until his knuckles went white. And now she’s gone.

The room went silent again.

Jason straightened slowly, still wiping the blood from his face with his handkerchief. His glare was murderous, but even he didn’t move closer. The raw intensity radiating from Alexander’s aura made it hard to breathe, even for an Alpha.

Patrick, Alpha of the North Ridge Pack, finally stepped forward, raising a hand cautiously. Alexander,he said carefully, his voice steady despite the tension. No one wants this to turn uglier than it already is. But you’re making a serious accusation here. What makes you think Jason was behind this? How do you know these rogues were even connected to him?

Alexander turned his gaze on Patrick, the gold in his eyes glowing brighter. They weren’t rogues,” Alexander growled. “Not even close.

The air in the room seemed to still.

What do you mean?Patrick asked quietly.

Alexander took a step closer to the table, his voice low but hard as steel. They had markings -burned into their skin. A crescent moon slashed with claws.
