Accidentally Yours (Merffy Kizzmet) novel Chapter 95

Enzo

The elevator groaned to a halt.

Metal doors parted. Cold air rushed in, damp and industrial. The vault level. Off–books. Off–limits. Exactly where monsters came to confess.

Enzo stepped out first. Lola followed, boots tapping beside him like punctuation. Gino, Dom, and Nico fanned out behind, their shadows longer than their patience.

He didn’t look back at her, not yet. His jaw was tight, blood cooling with purpose. He had a name. He had a face. And he had a fucking receipt.

But Lolashe’d been the one dosed. Targeted. Nearly taken.

And now she wanted front row seats.

Dom was the first to say it.

“You don’t have to be down here, Lo.”

He said it gently. Kindly. Which made it worse.

Lola stopped walking. Her shoulders dropped. She turned to face them–face flushed but eyes bright, like someone about to throw a match.

Her voice didn’t shake. Didn’t crack. It cut.

“I was exploited. Groomed. Almost sold.

Orphaned. Homeless. Trained like a weapon and taught to smile while bleeding.

And I still clawed my way to peace. I built joy out of wreckage. I choose softness after everything tried to strip it from me.

She looked up–eyes wild and dry, like grief forgot how to weep.

“And they tried to erase it all with a single fucking shot.”

A pause. Barely a breath. But it hit harder than a scream.

“Like I was just a body. Something to be moved. Branded. Owned.

Like I wasn’t real.“.

She stepped forward, steady.

“But I am.

I’m real.

And I’m the nightmare they didn’t calculate for.

Gino shifted uncomfortably, looking anywhere but at her.

Then he leaned toward Enzo, elbowed him lightly in the ribs, and whispered, “Damn. I’d let her interrogate me.

Enzo didn’t laugh. Couldn’t.

Because all he could see was Lolabrilliant, brutal, untouchableand the furious heartbeat in his own chest that couldn’t decide if it wanted to protect her or fall to its knees.

She looked back at him then. Just him.

And he realized something terrifying:

She wasn’t doing this to prove herself.

She was doing it because she already knew her worth.

And now, the people who didn’t? Were going to learn.

He finally nodded.

“Alright, kitten,” he said, voice soft but solid steel. “Let’s do it your way.

I’ve killed for less than what they tried to do to her.

And I’ll kill again.

Not out of rage-

but devotion.

Because she’s mine.

Not in some weak, possessive way.

In the cosmic way.

In the way the moon belongs to the tide.

In the way gravity belongs to stars.

She’s chaos wrapped in flesh, retribution in boots-

and every part of her answers to me.

She called me her twin soul onceback when we were pretending.

But that word hasn’t left my chest since.

Not because it made sense.

Because breathed life into something inside me.

She didn’t just unlock something in me.

She built it.

Taught my hunger a name.

Taught my violence restraint.

Taught my heart that it could still kneel for something other than blood.

She didn’t save me.

She claimed me.

Marked every inch of my soul in a language only we speak-

a dialect of fire and want and whispered sins.

And the worst part?

I didn’t just let her.

I welcomed it.

I worshipped it.

Because for the first time in my life, I wasn’t surviving.

I wasn’t fighting.

I wasn’t alone.

I was hers.

And if that makes her God-

then I am already on my knees.

But he’d never seen one start that way.

Sprinklesreal name Matthew Solane–was already slick with fear, snot clinging to the edge of his nose, wrists straining uselessly against zip–ties as Lola wandered the room like she was browsing a boutique. She wasn’t even doing anything. Just existing. Wearing the world’s most unserious outfit like it was

battle armor.

And somehow?

It was.

“Does it smell like panic in here?” she asked airily, not even looking at him.

Dom coughed to hide his laugh. Gino turned away, shoulders shaking. Nico muttered, “Literally how horror movies start,” under his breath.

But Enzo didn’t laugh.

He watched.

Watched the way her presence rewired the room’s temperature–tilting it sideways, replacing fear with something worse. Anticipation.

She wasn’t just unpredictable.

She was intoxicating.

Mine.

And Sprinkles? Poor bastard?

He knew it too.

As Enzo stepped forward, the man’s head snapped up, mouth already trembling.

“I didn’t know,Sprinkles rasped, eyes flicking wildly between them before settling on Enzo. “I didn’t know she was yours. If I had–I swear, I wouldn’t have

“You would’ve,” Enzo said coolly. “Because cowards like you only respect what’s owned. Not what’s real.”

Goddamn right she’s mine.

A sharp little noise escaped Sprinkles‘ throat–half sob, half whimper.

Lola circled casually behind him, the rubber soles of her rain boots squeaking with every step. The slow, repetitive sound echoed in the silence like a countdown to something unspeakable.

Crinkle.
