“I can’t help myself. I just wanted to see you,” Edward said, lowering his eyes with a self–deprecating smile— even he knew he was being a bit out of line.
“You’re not some naive kid in love,” I said.
“Does it really matter?” Edward cut me off. Then, almost submissively, he looked up at me and traced his fingers along my cheek. “Aren’t you in a hurry?”
I glanced down at him, taking in his sharp jawline and handsome face. The vibe he gave off was nothing like Ryan’s.
Ryan still had that boyish clarity, but Edward was all raw, untamed energy.
I felt an irresistible pull toward him, like he was magnetic.
Edward’s fingers traced from my cheek to the back of my head, gently tilting me down toward him. My lips trembled as I kissed him, meeting his upturned mouth.
We tangled together, heat surging between us, and all my defenses melted away again.
It was like Edward found a switch–one second he was gentle, the next he was pinning me to the bed, his passion as overwhelming as ever.
In the dim bedroom, the only sounds were our shameless moans. I was consumed by the heat, lost in him, forgetting time and place.
Edward was almost frighteningly dominant in moments like this–every time I tried to plead for mercy, he just silenced me with another searing kiss.
“I really am in a rush…” I murmured, biting my lip, my voice shaky with desperation.
Edward let out a low, husky laugh. “Is that so? But you don’t actually want me to go, do you?”
His words exploded in my mind, leaving my thoughts in total chaos.
Things got heated for another ten minutes or so, and before I knew it, it was already close to eight.
Right then, my phone started ringing. I didn’t even have to check–I knew it was Jared, probably impatiently urging me to come over.
I reached out for my phone, but Edward chose that exact moment to get mischievous on purpose.
In just a few seconds, I was trembling so much that the phone slipped right through my fingers and tumbled off the bed.
“Edward…” I half–whispered, half in frustration, half in playful protest–not even sure myself if I wanted him to stop or keep going.

By half past eight, the whole place was in total disarray. I rushed through my shower and came out, only to see Edward still sprawled out on the bed.
“Why are you still just lying there?” I asked, scrambling to find some clothes.
Edward looked like he was still savoring it, a lazy smile on his face. “I need to shower too.”
“Then get moving,” I urged him.
He grabbed his clothes and headed into the bathroom. As he walked away, I noticed his strong back was covered in red marks–looked like he’d been mauled by a kitten.
I glanced at my nails, thinking, ‘I didn’t even use much force. How did I end up scratching him like that?‘
When Edward came out, he was back to his usual calm, composed self.
“Heading to the hotel? Want a ride?” he asked in a low voice.
“No need, I’ll just grab a cab,” I said. Right then, my phone chimed with a new text.
I picked up my phone and glanced at the screen. My mind went blank for a second, and then I quickly urged Edward, “You need to go. Jared’s bringing Yvonne over to see me.”
Edward sensed the shift instantly. He looked at me, a wave of disappointment flickering across his face.
‘Does he feel like he’s just my on–call boy toy?‘ I wondered.
“Don’t just stand there–you need to leave,” I said, my
voice urgent.
Edward let out a soft “oh” and turned to open the door. He paused, glancing back at me like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he just walked out.
I felt like I’d just pulled off a secret rendezvous, my head spinning with guilt and excitement.
By the time Jared and Yvonne arrived, I’d already thrown open the windows to air out any trace of what happened and was waiting for them outside by the curb.
“Mom, why didn’t you answer our calls?” Yvonne asked, sounding a little disappointed.
I tried to act casual and said, “I was probably in the shower and didn’t hear it.”
Jared’s gaze was shadowed as he looked me over, then he asked with a hint of sarcasm, “Did you get yourself a dog or something?”
I was stunned, not sure what he was getting at.
Jared tapped his own neck and smirked, “So, he actually bit you here?”
