Chapter 65

Foster’s POV

Victory was within my grasp. I leaned back in my chair, allowing myself a small smile as I surveyed the Council chamber. These fools had no idea how thoroughly I’d stacked the deck in my favor.

Three of the seven Elders had already accepted my donationsto their pet charities. Another was deeply

indebted to me from a business deal years ago. The vote was practically a formality at this point.

All I needed was Felix. Once I had my son back, Summer would follow. She might be playing house with

that bastard Alexander Blackwood now, but I knew her weakness. She’d crawl back to me for the chance

to see her precious boy.

The thought of how much this little insurance policy had cost me made me wince internally. My pack

finances would take months to recover from the bribes I’d distributed. Worth every penny, though, to put

Summer back in her place.

I glanced over at her, sitting beside Blackwood with that newfound confidence. Pathetic. She’d leam

soon enough who she truly belonged to.

Court will now resume,Elder Montgomery announced, her voice cutting through my thoughts.

I straightened my tie, exchanging a knowing glance with my attorney. This was merely a formality

before my victory.

Then Blackwood’s lawyer stood up. Honored Elders, before you render judgment, I request permission to

submit new evidence that has just come into our possession.

My blood ran cold. What evidence? I’d been meticulous.

This is highly irregular, Mr. Wilson,Elder Montgomery frowned.

The evidence pertains directly to Alpha Foster’s fitness as a parent and his true motivations in this case,

Wilson pressed. I believe the Council will find it compelling enough to warrant consideration.

I shifted in my seat, maintaining my composed expression while my mind raced. There couldn’t be

anything. I’d personally ensured all those medical records were destroyed.

After a brief consultation, Montgomery nodded. We will allow this submission.

With sickening clarity, I watched as Wilson approached the Council bench with a thick folder. These are the complete medical records for both Summer Winster and Felix Thorn during their time in Alpha Foster’s pack.

The blood drained from my face. This was impossible.

We have testimony from three different medical staff members who were pressured to conduct these

procedures and falsify records,Wilson continued, handing copies to each Elder. Additionally, we have financial records showing payments from Alpha Foster’s accounts to these staff members after the procedures, labeled as consulting fees.

This is absurd! My attorney jumped in. These documents could easily be falsified!

Each record has been authenticated by the medical board and bears the hospital’s official verification seal,Wilson replied smoothly.

Most damning, we have Alpha Foster’s own emails discussing the procedures with Ms. Moore, where he explicitly states, and I quote: Summer is useless to me except as a donor. Once we get what we need from her and the brat, we can dispose of them however you want.“”

I felt the room spinning. Those emails were on a private server. They couldn’t possibly-

This evidence has been verified by independent digital forensics experts,Wilson concluded. And we have provided their certification in your packets.

The Eldersfaces had transformed from potential allies to disgusted jurors. Even those I’d paid off couldn’t ignore evidence this damning.

The ruling came swiftly. Not only did Summer receive full custody of Felix, but the Council placed a restraining order against me, preventing me from coming within 500 yards of either Summer or my son.

My son. My son. The rage boiling inside me was almost uncontrollable as we left the Council chambers

in disgrace.

Back at the pack house, rage consumed me. I hurled a crystal decanter against the wall, watching it shatter with grim satisfaction.

You incompetent fool!I roared at my attorney. You said this was guaranteed! What the fuck happened?

The man cowered, stuttering excuses about unforeseen circumstances and surprise evidence. We can appeal, Alpha Foster. This isn’t–

Get out of my sight before I tear your throat out. When he scurried away, I bellowed for my Beta. Find Dr.

Randall! NOW!

My Beta returned minutes later, his expression telling me everything I needed to know. He’s gone, Alpha. Left the territory two days ago. No forwarding address.

The realization hit me like a physical blowRandal had betrayed me, bringing those records straight to Blackwood. That’s why they were so wellprepared.

Find him,I snarled. When you do, bring him to me. Alive.

Susanna chose that moment to enter, her face twisted with concern. Alpha Foster, darling, what

happened?

I rounded on her, all my fury finding a convenient target. What happened? Your little plan to secure organs for your son has cost me my son!

She backed away, eyes wide. I never meant-

Pack your things,I ordered, my voice deadly calm. You and Moore are leaving this pack tonight.

Alpha Foster, please, she begged, reaching for me. I love you. We can fix this together. I have an idea-

I said GET OUT!I roared, my wolf surging forward. You’ve been nothing but a liability. Your presence,

your schemes, your worthless child all of it has cost me everything!

Tears streamed down her face as she fell to her knees. Please, I know how we can get Felix back. We can

take him-

I turned to her with a sneer. And how do you propose we do that? The Council will be watching my every

move now.
