The warriors outside, who saw the king immediately fell to their knees, because they were scared. This was one of the days where the king had lost his sanity and would kill anyone, who even wronged him even in the. slightest.

It almost like when she saw a delicious food, but she still couldn’t feel anything. That was how she felt about these dresses.

However, it made her happy because she didn’t think she would have such nice clothes. This was even better than the one that her stepsister had. She liked to stare at them. It gave her little happiness.

But then, she heard a loud bang from outside, as if someone kicked down her door, which made her startled, but her instinct told her to get out and check what happened.

Rania did that, and found Maximus walked toward her, with his bloody hand. The sight was very scary, as blood splattered on his clothes.

“What happened?” Rania asked, she was scared of him. She didn’t do anything that could cause him to be angry, she tried so hard not to make her appearance as a nuisance. She didn’t even go out, just in case she would bump into Maximus and annoy him.

However, the king always found a reason to come to her, and mostly he would come in a dark mood. She couldn’t guess what kind of mood when he came to her. And right now, it must be the darkest.

Rania gulped down when Maximus didn’t slow down when he closed the proximity between them. She wanted to flee, which was an impossible thing to do, since the king blocked her only way to escape.

“What happened with your hand?” Rania asked, her voice was trembling slightly, despite her effort to keep it steady.

Maximus didn’t say anything, but when he was close enough with her, he pulled her into a tight hug. He buried his face against the crook of her neck, which startled Rania.

As the royal family and a king, Maximus had a well built body. He was tall, and muscular, it was a typical of the sovereign’s appearance.

Therefore, whenever he hugged her like this, it almost felt like he could engulf her body wholly. He was strong enough to break her every bone, and Rania was sure he could do it with ease.
