Eiten stared at alpha Kehn in disbelief. He was very pissed, he couldn’t utter a single word out because he knew himself that he would lash out to this imbecile.
“My king, what do you think about this?” Alpha Kehn asked Maximus directly, since he didn’t engage with the conversation since the beginning. The alpha also wondered why there was a woman in the meeting room.
They were having breakfast together, but after that they would discuss the topic of war. The king should have told Rania to leave the room, but he didn’t. Instead, the king told the servant to add more food into her plate.
This woman was not tactful enough to read the room, as she ate everything slowly.
Actually, that was not the case. Somehow, Rania was very hungry. Probably because the intense sex they had last night, which led her to eat more than usual. Moreover, she was always eating slower than normal people.
This bad habit was developed because she didn’t have much to eat back in the Black Stone pack, therefore she had to eat slowly, to play trick in her mind that she ate enough. It was weird, but it worked for her to prevent herself from being hungry for longer time.
the “My royal gamma is right, there is no need to be in hustle in this matter. We are going to conquer Barlukan Kingdom by the end of next year if everything goes smoothly. There is no need for you or me to go to the frontline when all of my senior warriors are more than capable to hold the garrison.”
Eiten wanted to snicker, but he held himself back from doing something so childish, and then focused on the discussion at hand. They talked about the issue related to the war for a few more minute before they shifted to the topic of the Bloody Moon pack.
“There are a lot of women and children in my pack, whom their mates are in the front line. We need an extra cost to support them, especially the family, who lost their mates in the battlefield, since they only receive
severance pay
and there is no income afterward.”
They discussed about the amount that alpha Kehn would need to support his pack members. The number was increased from the last year.
By this time, Rania had finished with her food, she was sleepy, and wanted to leave the room. She listened to the discussion, and form her own opinion to keep her mind awake, but it was tiring.
Alpha Kehn was in his early forty, but his head was almost bald with nose that looked too big for his face. He would glance at Rania from time to time, and she felt the discomfort from him, as if he questioned her
existence here.
Well, Rania had the same question too.
By the end of the discussion, it was lunch time, and they ate again. Rania felt her back was in so much pain because she had to sit for hours, but when she looked around, there were no complaining look on their faces, as if they had not yet sat down for hours like her.
By the end of the lunch, Maximus and Eiten agreed to visit the family, whom their family members were killed during the war.
With this, Maximus could see with his own eyes, how much alpha Kehn them all.
“eeded in order to support
Moreover, Eiten was insisted on this. The royal gamma and the royal beta were in a secret campaign to clear the king’s name. So, the people could see him in different light.
Especially now Rania was with him, it could soften his edges with the presence of woman by his side.
Therefore, after their lunch, they went to the village in the north side of the Bloody Moon pack. They were going to the orphanage.
It was not possible for the king to meet with all of the families, therefore he started with the children, who were the victims of the war.
“I heard you have met with elder Gayle,” Eiten said in a low voice, as he walked next to Rania, on their way to the orphanage, while the king had a discussion with the alpha.
They walked ahead of them, thus they couldn’t hear the conversation between Eiten and Rania.
“Yes.” Rania craned her neck to look at Eiten’s expression, he was very tall, and it hurt her neck to see him, especially when they walked next to each other, thus she stared ahead, at Maximus‘ back.
“I don’t know what you were talking about in detail, but I think I can make a guess.” Eiten slowed his pace when they entered the building. “Please, help him. I know someone can reach him. Deep down he is not the monster that everyone is trying to portray him.”
Rania had tried to do this too, she had decided to give it a try. “I will try my best,” she said easily, which made Eiten was a little bit taken aback, but he grinned.
“I know if there is a chance for him to return to his usual self, it will be you.”
“Don’t put your hope too high, I may worsen the situation.”
“Don’t be too pessimistic. I can see how much he cares about you. But, if you want an advice from me, don’t push him. He has a tendency to refuse whatever it was when he was being forced into doing something.”
Rania was well aware of that, and she was genuine when she said she was going to try. “Still, don’t put your hope too high.”
“I will cross my finger,” Eiten said lightly with a chuckle.
They then entered the orphanage, where the children around the age of two to twelve gathered at the sidelines, as they looked scared because there were a lot of people that came to their place.
In total, there were around one hundred and thirteen of children there. The number would only grow if the war continued.
