Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 705

Chapter 705: You lost all your rights, then and there.

Arwen didn’t know when she dozed off, but she woke up to the faint click of a door.

Her eyes fluttered open, disoriented, and the first thing she saw was a nurse stepping out of her father’s room.

"What happened?" Arwen asked quickly, her voice carrying a trace of alarm. She hadn’t even realized she had fallen asleep. She had intended to stay awake until her father opened his eyes —at least once.

The nurse offered a small, reassuring smile and shook her head. "It’s nothing serious. I just went in to check on his condition. He woke up for a few seconds before drifting off again."

Arwen’s heart skipped. She straightened in her chair, her hands curling against the armrest. "He is fine, right?" she asked, her voice trembling with both hope and fear.

The nurse nodded firmly. "Yes. His vitals are steady. Rest is what he needs most right now. Don’t worry, he is doing better than before.".

Relief washed through Arwen like a gentle tide. Her body slumped slightly as though the tension holding her upright had finally given way. She lowered her gaze, nodding and whispering to herself, "That’s good ..." Then, looking up, she gave a polite nod to the nurse. "Thank you."

The nurse gave her one last kind glance before walking away.

Arwen exhaled slowly, trying to calm her heart when something caught her attention. She looked down and noticed a jacket draped over her. Consumed in her worries, she hadn’t realized it was there earlier, but she couldn’t ignore it now when her fingers brushed against the familiar texture of the fabric,

It wasn’t hers. In her rush, she had even thought to bring one. But the jacket wasn’t unfamiliar either. She knew exactly who it belonged to.

Her breath caught as the faint scent reached her again —that cologne she would never forget. The warmth of it, the comfort that it brought together ... it must have been what had lulled her into such a comfortable sleep, despite the most uncomfortable position.

Her gaze softened, and her eyes warmed before she instinctively lifted her head, searching the corridor for him.

But he wasn’t there.

She could feel his presence still lingering in the air, as if it hadn’t been long since he left.

"Are you looking for something, Miss?" Robin asked as he approached from the end of the corridor.

However, Arwen shook her head. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Looking at him, she just asked, "You weren’t here. Where diod you go?"

"I went out to get you water and hadn’t been here for a while." He responded while his eyes caught the unfamiliar coat on her.

Arwen checked the time on her watch before her gaze flickered to look out at the window that was at the end of the corridor.

It was no longer dark as night. The dawn was just around the corner.

"It’s going to be morning soon," she said, turning to look at Robin. "You can call Mr. Cole and ask him to inform Mrs. Quinn."

Robin nodded as he moved to do as she had asked.

Arwen looked down at the jacket. She stared at it for a short moment before removing it from her, only to wear it properly.

She then stood and walked closer to the glass to look at her father. He was still there sleeping, yet something looked better in him now, as if he was getting better.

Time passed as she stared at him.

"Mrs. Quinn, you are here?"

Catrin turned to look at the doctor before she offered him an anxious smile. "How is he doing, doctor?" she asked.

The doctor was confused for a second. His gaze flicked to Arwen briefly before he turned back to Catrin. "He is fine and had woken up. You can meet him once the sister is done inside."

Arwen heard that, and she turned at once to look through the glass. The nurse was standing in between, and she couldn’t see him properly, but her heart eased knowing that he had finally woken up.

"Why are you still looking from there?" The doctor suddenly asked, and she turned to look at him, only to see him smile. "He has woken up. You can go in and meet him. He had been waiting to see you. Especially, after you that you stayed here for the whole night."

Arwen hesitated for a second, but nodded.

The doctor smiled at her and then turned and walked away.

Catrin turned to look at her again. Her eyes carried the clear blame. But just when she was about to speak, the door opened again and the nurse stepped out, saying, "Ms. Quinn, your father is asking for you. Please go in."

Arwen nodded at once and stepped forward. However, Catrin blocked her path.

"You think you have left anything with which you could enter and see him in such a crucial time?"

Arwen frowned at the words.

However, Catrin didn’t budge. She stood there, looking at her before reminding her. "You signed the letter of severance without an ounce of hesitation and you lost all your rights then and there. Including this."
