"Did she have her dinner?" Caden asked without looking up from the documents.

The butler entered the study and took a step forward. "Yes, sir. The maid just brought down an empty plate."

"The doctors have advised to keep a check on her diet," Caden’s instruction were clear. The butler noted it and nodded.

"Don’t worry, sir. We will take care of Young Miss."

Caden finally glanced up at him and nodded, before gesturing him to leave.

The butler inclined his head in respect before he retreated from the room.

After he left, Caden intertwined his finger over his desk, thinking back about what Selene had said. And his jaws hardened.

He hadn’t encouraged her —not because he didn’t blame the woman for who Aiden acted this way. But because he didn’t want Selene to get into trouble.

Selene was his daughter —one whom he has spoiled and pampered. He could see her taking risks of offending Aiden again.

As for that woman, he would find a way to deal with. Since Aiden values her so much, what would be better way to get back at him.

A knock at the door interrupted him.

"Come in," Caden permitted, and right after he did, his secretary entered with a document file in his hand.

"Sir!" he greeted.

Caden glanced at him and asked, "Did you look into what I asked you to look into?"

The secretary nodded before passing the file he brought with himself. "The woman isn’t as simple as we thought her to be, sir," he reported, continuing. "Arwen Quinn, the former heiress of Quinn family and current President and heir of Davies Empire. After getting revealed as the mysterious Vice President behind Davies Internationals, she has become personality people admire and look up to. She has quite an influence in the industry. All her partners, board members and stakeholders speak highly of her. They respect her not because she is the granddaughter of Chairman Brenda Davies, but because they truly like her."

"Even before being known as the President of Davies Empire, she was a well renowned ballet dancer, appreciated and reckoned nationally. Her beauty and grace have always been in the talks of the society. All her age, she had been a socialite, rich families wanted their daughters to be like. Apart from all these there are also more about her. All of it are listed in detail."

Caden’s eyes scanned the through details. And the more he read it the more he was surprise. If the situation would have been different, he would have admired her for her excellence.

However, he wasn’t going to do that now when he knew she was the reason behind it all ... behind why Aiden targeted them the way he did.

Closing the file, Caden set it aside. "Since she has been the reason behind it all, she needs to pay for it."

"But sir," the secretary hesitated, his brows furrowing. "I don’t think we should take the risk at this time. After all, we aren’t at our best yet. If anything goes wrong, we might not be able to take the blow."

His concern was legitimate. Aiden was a force hard to reckon. Even the Martins, whose roots goes deep shouldn’t dare to offend him. Otherwise, if he could shake the entire empire in one night, then it wouldn’t be difficulty for him to erase the name of the Martins from the face of the entire world.

Caden understood the worries of his secretary. But he wasn’t there to play the game as well. He knew what is at risk, so he has got a calculated move.

"What do you think I am about to do?" Caden asked, glancing at his secretary.

The secretary’s brows furrowed a little deeper before he replied, "Sir, I know you might want to take revenge for everything that happened, but we cannot bear to offend President Winslow at this time."

"Who said I am going to offend him?" Caden asked, his eyes carrying a glint.

When the secretary looked confused, Caden started to explain, "We don’t need to take the risk of offending someone when someone else could do it on our stance. Same goes with the revenge. Why should we act, when someone else would be more than willing to act for us?"

The secretary looked more confused. Staring at his boss, he couldn’t help but ask, "Sir, who are you referring to? Who would be willing to act on our stance?"

Caden didn’t respond immediately. He rose from his chair and came around the chair, his hand at his back. "Aiden might have become the sole heir of Winslow family, but people hadn’t yet stopped eyeing his position. There are still many who would be willing to help us. We just have to pick the right one, who wouldn’t hesitate taking the risk against him."

"And who would that person be?" the secretary asked.

Caden didn’t answer him. He just turned, and looked at him, a smirk lifting the corner of his lips.
