She turned to me, her eyes wide with excitement. “Like? I love the place. It’s so beautiful.”
I nodded my head, happy that f’d managed to satisfy her and get exactly what she’d been looking for.
“The only one out of my brothers who is art related is Merhold. The others are either rational or more rational. It all just varies to some degree
Lillian nodded her head, taking my words in completely. “That’s nice to hear.”
Tom who had been silently watching everything play out began to speak again. “So the apartment is for Ms. Lillian over here.”
I shook
my head. “I still need Lillian to pay for the room. I’m earning a portion of commission from it.”
Tom looked embarrassed as the realization dawned on him. It seemed he’d realized his mistake a tad bit too late.
I continued again. “But you can offer Lillian a discount.”
He seemed to ponder on it for a while before finally giving a reply. “I can do that.”
We went through the process of choosing the right house. Once Lillian had confirmed her choice, Tom prepared the contract. We went over a few things before Lillian signed the contract.
Most of the afternoon was spent working on this. By the time we were done with everything, I felt exhausted to the bone.
My gaze went to the zeros that had been added to my account balance, I’d made my first money since coming to Pack Lune. I felt so happy, I could just start dancing, despite knowing people would most likely gawk at my weird antics.
Lillian looked at me, a teasing glint in her eyes. “The money might not be enough to buy a wheel in your bike.”
“Yeah right.” I laughed.
Eventually, we parted ways after some more talk. Being with Lillian had felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the other people I’d encountered. I got on my bike and began making my way to the Royal Academy.
My main priority now was finding the Elders and continuing my studies. The scenery blurred past me as I hurried on the path to the Royal Academy.
The process was long and arduous but luckily, I was able to get past, most of it. The ride back was exhausting and all I could think of was getting into my warm bed.
“There she fucking is.”
I pulled my bike to a stop. Blocking my path were a group of dirty looking wolves. Their faces were not pleasing to look at. I recognized them as the recently dismissed security guards. They were armed with clubs and didn’t look like they wanted a friendly chit chat.
I tried to turn back but the path was already blocked. My mind was already racing with different ways I could fight back when I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
The pain was enough to make my vision swim and it brought me to the ground. Just when I felt like I was about to pass out, a thought hit me.
The whistle.
I still had the whistle Haelor had given me. Without a second thought, I blew hard on the whistle.
Nothing.
“Let’s teach her a lesson she’ll never forget.” One of them aimed his club at my head
“Yeah!” Another one piped.
I tried backing away but there was nowhere to run to and it seemed my legs were about to give out. One of the men reached out to me, his hand ready to rip my clothes off.
Just as soon as he’d stretched his hands out, it fell to the ground with a thud.

Chapter 101
I held my breath, unable to tear my gaze from the dismembered hand that now laid on the ground. The silerice seemed to have been deafening fore brief second: Then the man began to scream.
It was a loud shrill sound that made me want to tear off my ears. Ilis eyes watered and widened to a length I didn’t think was possible.
“My hand. It’s my hand!” The man held the rest of his hand that was still there while letting out a scream.
“Everybody down!”
I turned just in time to see a squad of five well equipped men enter. I didn’t miss the gauntlets around their waist. Their guns were outstretched and aimed at the guards who only had clubs and other blunt weapons to defend themselves.
As soon as they saw the squad, they began trying to run. One of the men turned to me and nodded.
He then motioned to the rest of his men and they slowly made their way to the guards who were now inching back out of fear.
I noticed a bit of movement behind them. My eyes widened when I saw the shadows come to light. They’d brought their wolves too.
The man who’d seen me snapped his fingers. In a flash, the wolves all launched themselves at the guard and began tearing them apart.
