Chapter 210
Caleb’s BOV
Harmona exchanged a quick glance with my father before focusing on me. “Did it look like the same transfer symbol?”
I nodded. “Caroline was the one who saw it, but I think it’s the same. She’s sure of it.”
Her lips pressed into a thin line. “It’s a very specific mark, one used in rituals where power or even souls are transferred. But…”
“But what?” Jade piped up, leaning against the wall with crossed arms.
Harmona hesitated, glancing between us before continuing. “If that’s what it is, it doesn’t make sense. The symbol is usually used to mark the recipient or vessel of the transfer. Why would Aurora have it? She’s… well, she’s not-”
“Not what?” I pressed, my voice more forceful than I intended.
“She’s not awakened…she doesn’t have her powers yet,” Harmona said finally. “It implies she’s… part of something much bigger than we’ve realized.”
Alpha Camden rubbed his temples, muttering under his breath. “This complicates everything. If it truly is a transfer symbol, we need to know who or what it’s connected to.”
I straightened, meeting their eyes squarely. “That’s why I came here. This can’t wait. Wh mark means, it’s on Aurora’s body–and it’s dangerous. We need to do something to help
hat
For a moment, the room was silent, save for the faint rustle of papers. Harmona looked conflicted, as if she was trying to contemplate something, and it didn’t quite sit right with me.
“What’s wrong, Harmona?” I asked, my voice tense, the air around us suddenly feeling heavier. She looked at us, her eyes wide and filled with something I could only describe as fear–fear mixed with an edge of urgency. It wasn’t like her to be rattled, so I knew whatever she was about to say was bad. My gut churned as I stepped closer to her.
“Why do I have a feeling that you are hiding something from us?” I asked.
Her gaze darted between me and the others before she finally spoke. “Whoever put that mark on
Aurora…” She paused, her voice trembling slightly, “…they’re trying to harness her powers.”
I frowned, the weight of her words sinking in slowly, and I couldn’t help the sharp edge that crept into my tone.

“What do you mean, harness her powers? You mean…steal them?
“Exactly!” she snapped back, her composure slipping for a moment before she sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Caleb, listen to me. When a witch gets her powers for the first time, she releases this–this burst of pure energy. It’s like a signature, a beacon, showing how powerful they’re going to be. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
I stared at her, the pieces coming together in my mind. “So you’re saying… when Aurora gets her powers-
-that mark will act like a siphon,‘ she cut in, her voice low but firm. “All of her power, her potential, everything… it will be transferred to someone else. And she’ll be left with nothing.”
Silence settled over the room like a thick fog. I could feel the anger bubbling up in my chest, but it wasn’t directed at Harmona. It was at whoever had done this.
“Who the hell would do that?” I demanded, pacing back and forth. “And why? Why would someone do that Aurora?”
Harmona folded her arms, her expression dark. “Power, Caleb. Always power. Some witches, some factions, they’d do anything to get stronger. To them, Aurora is just a means to an end.”
“Not to me,” I said firmly, my voice rough as I stopped in front of her. “Not to us. She’s my mate! We’re not letting this happen to her, Harmona. Tell me how we can stop it.”
She hesitated, and that hesitation was enough to make my stomach drop. “Harmona,” I said, voice a low growl. “Tell me.”
“It’s not that simple,‘ she admitted, finally meeting my gaze. “That mark–it’s old magic. Ancient. I’ll need time to figure out how to break it without hurting her. But… there’s something else you need
to know.”
I crossed my arms, bracing myself. “What now?”
“If we can’t stop it before she gets her powers…” She trailed off, her expression unreadable for a moment before she finished. “Whoever put the mark on her–they’ll have complete.com over her, Caleb. Body and soul.”
For a moment, I couldn’t speak. The thought of Aurora, sweet, innocent Aurora, being used as some kind of puppet–it made my blood boil. “Then we make sure that doesn’t happen,” I said, my voice like steel. “We’ll do whatever it takes. Whatever it costs.”
Harmona nodded slowly, but the doubt in her eyes lingered. “We’d better act fast,” she murmured. “Because time isn’t on our side.”
I leaned in closer to Harmona, my hands clenched into fists at my sides. “So, who is the power going

to be transferred to?” I asked, my voice low, trying to control the anger that was rising in me,
Harmona didn’t hesitate. ‘It’s the same person who’s out to get Aurora.”
