Chapter 221

Caleb’s P.O.V

Two hours. It had been two damn hours, and still, nothing. Not a single sign of Aurora or Harmona. The guests had long since left, their chatter and laughter now just an echo in the past. But here, in the packhouse, the tension was suffocating. Alpha Camden, my father, had issued a fullblown territorywide search, sending out patrol guards and soldiers in every direction, but they kept coming back with the same answer: nothing.

They’ve checked the burnt remains of Aurora’s old house,my father muttered beside me, arms crossed, his jaw set in frustration. No clues, nothing to follow.

I exhaled sharply, my fingers raking through my hair. This doesn’t make sense. Aurora wouldn’t just vanish like thisshe wouldn’t leave without telling anyone.

She didn’t,Damien’s voice was quiet but firm. He sat in the chair closest to Caroline’s bedside, his eyes never leaving her still face. If Aurora’s missing, it’s because something happened.

The room was silent for a long moment, the only sound being the steady beeping of the monitors attached to Caroline. She was still unconscious, her face unnervingly pale, her breathing too shallow for my liking. Her mother sat on the other side of the bed, clutching Caroline’s hand in both of hers, whispering words too soft for me to hear. Her father stood rigidly at the foot of the bed, his expression unreadable, but I could see the tension in his posture, the worry in his eyes.

I swallowed hard. Caroline’s still not waking up.

Damien finally tore his gaze away from her to look at me, something dark and troubled swirling in his eyes. That’s what worries me.

I frowned. What do you mean?

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. Aurora and Caroline are connected, Caleb. You know that. If Caroline is still unconsciousit means Aurora might be, too.

A cold dread seeped into my bones at his words. He wasn’t wrong. Caroline and Aurora were Lunar Sistersa bond that none of us fully understood, but tonight’s incident had proven the facts. If Caroline hadn’t woken up yet, then something serious must have happened to Aurora.

Then we’re running out of time,my father said grimly. We need to find her before it’s too

late.

Chapter 221

Caroline’s mother’s grip on Caroline’s hand tightened. She’ll wake up,she whispered, She

has to.

I wasn’t so sure.

I stood there, my heart pounding in my chest as the patrol guards returned one by one, their expressions grim, their eyes filled with frustration. My father let out a heavy sigh before addressing them, his voice calm but laced with the weight of disappointment. There’s no sign of her anywhere,he said, his gaze sweeping over the group. No one saw anyone enter or leave the territory while the rest of us were unconscious. It’s like she justvanished. The words hung in the air, suffocating, crushing.

My mother turned to me from her position by the window, her brows knit together in deep concern. Caleb, can you sense her through the mark? Her voice wavered slightly, and I hated hearing the fear in it.

I shook my head, rubbing my temples in frustration. I’ve been trying, Mom. I’ve been trying this entire time, butnothing. It’s like the bond is completely shut off.The moment I admitted it out loud, it felt even more real, even more terrifying. I clenched my fists, trying to ignore the dread creeping into my bones.

Shut off?she echoed, her voice barely above a whisper.

I swallowed hard. The last time this happenedI hesitated, my throat tightening at the memory. The last time the bond felt like this, we found her in that parking lot, not breathing.

Silence. A thick, heavy silence that made my skin crawl. I saw the horror flash across my mother’s face, the way my father stiffened, his jaw clenching as his hands curled into fists.

No,my mother whispered, shaking her head. No, we are not losing her again. We are not!Her voice cracked, and before I could even process it, she turned to my father. We need to keep searching. We need to go beyond the territory if we have to. I don’t care how long it takes, we need to find her!1

My father remained quiet for a long moment before finally exhaling sharply. We will. We’ll find her,But even as he said it, I could hear the doubt lingering underneath. The uncertainty.

I couldn’t breathe. The walls felt like they were closing in, the weight of helplessness pressing down on my chest. Aurora was out there somewhere, alone. And I couldn’t feel her. I couldn’t reach her.

And that terrified me more than anything.

Chapter 221

I sat there, staring at Caroline’s motionless form on the bed, the weight in my chest unbearable. My mother’s voice was soft, reassuring, but it did little to ease the storm inside me. Caleb, she murmured, her hand pressing gently against mine, we’re going to find her. 1 promise you. Your father has the best men searching everywhere. She won’t be gone for long.

I swallowed hard, my throat dry. You don’t know that,I said, my voice barely above a whisper. What if something happened to her? What if we’re already too late?My hands clenched into fists, frustration coiling inside me like a venomous snake. I felt helpless, and I

hated it.
