Chapter 35

Caleb’s POV

For a split second, the shock of what I just witnessed had me frozen on the spotuntil my wolf came to roaring!

You son of a bitch! A growl tore through me, my voice sounding raspier than it would in my human form and then fra ter ripped the leech off of Aurora with my fingers around his neck.

Aurora scrambled away immediately and I used that opportunity to haul that feech up off the floor with my fingers tightening and has serk

Mr. Hemming tried to pry my hand off of his neck, but I tossed him aside onto the floor the very next moment, the satisfying the fallowed by the s bones rattling had me wanting to grin at his misery.

However, the leech was resilient for his own good. The instant he hit the ground, he scrambled on to his hands and knees and crafted out of the des before breaking into a run as soon as he was back on his feet.

I grit my teeth, wanting to follow him, to bash in his skullbut then I remembered that Aurora was still in the room, and from the frantic beat of her heartshe was scared.

My wolf howled inside my head, urging me to go to Aurora first. Its claws and fangs extended when I tried to go against my wolf’s orders frend that couldn’t leave her alone, not like this. As for Mr. Hemming, I was a predator for a reason. I could let him run, but once I start to funt, there would be so place where he can hide from me.

Turning to face her, I found her looking up at me through eyes as wide as saucers, afraid of what she just witnesses. So I approached her with caution, like 1 would any wounded animal.

It’s finehe’s gone.I held up my hands in front of me, to show her that I didn’t mean any harm. But still, I saw her flinch back. I stopped immediately

The way she flinched away from meit made my wolf lay down its head on a whimper. My wolf was angry that she got hurtbut it was also hurt by her rejection.

What was going on? Was she really

Caleb?Caroline’s voice snapped me back into the present as she ran inside the classroom, her eyes wide as she took in the scene in front of her. Without waiting for me to answer, she was running towards Aurora and kneeling down beside her to pull her into her arms.

Damnit, Caleb!Caroline snapped at me, looking visible angry as she cradled Aurora into her arms. I told you to hurry, didn’t I?

But Caroline’s words didn’t have much effect on me. What had me stunned was the fact that Aurora, who had flinched away from me only a few seconds ago, now welcomed Caroline’s embrace without effort as she clutched onto her cardigan. Caroline hugged her back tightly, running her hands up and down her back in comfort.

The sound of my wolf growling inside my head had me surprised. Was my wolf seriously jealous of Caroline now? This was ridiculous! I refused to believe it!

Turning away from the two girls, I headed out the doorway and instantly, started following the scent that belonged to that slime of a human scum who had just tried to force himself on a student.

I began running after the scent, worried that he might have run off the premises, but fortunately, I followed his scent to the parking lot, to find him fumbling with his car keys as he tried to open the door with trembling fingers. Fucker actually though he could get away with it?

My vision turned red as I saw him looking around to make sure no one would notice him. He was trying to get away without any consequences and I didn’t want that happening. But maybe it was some kind of instinct to spot a predator, because Mr. Hemming looked back at me right then, just as his door opened, and he didn’t waste a single second before he hopped onto his car and started the ignition.

Bloody fucker!I ran after him, but his car was faster as he stepped on the gas.

I looked around the lot, ready to either follow him via my car or in my wolf form. But suddenly, a thought occurred to me.

What was I going to do once I caught up with him?
