"President Ramsay..." Audrey took a look at Kaiden unhappily and turned to ask Amelia's opinion.
Amelia sighed secretly and opened the drawer in front of her. She took out the half-pack of Earl Grey from it and handed it to Audrey. "Assistant Atkinson, you should do what you do best."
After taking over the teabag, she let out a muffled 'okay'. To tell the truth, she was really worried about letting President Ramsay to be alone with Kaiden, who had a bad personality. It was too dangerous!
But no matter how worried she was, she could only retreat with the half bag of Earl Grey in hand.
When passing by Kaiden, for the first time, Audrey had an idea that making a cup of tea for him was such a waste!
As soon as the office door closed, Kaiden immediately opened his eyes and stared at Amelia. "What kind of background is that Atkinson having? Why are you protecting her so much?"
Amelia replied calmly, "I'm not protecting her."
Kaiden was like a little beast, roaring and shouting, "You didn't? How dare you say that? Are you not giving her the teabag to excuse her?"
Amelia said softly, "She's just a girl, and she just gets the job recently. You're a man, so don't haggle over her."
Kaiden whispered, "So what if she is a girl? Are girls born with privileges? Now we all encourage the equality between men and women! This Atkinson doesn't know who was she talking to? How dare she clamor in front of me? If it weren't for you, I would have tortured her!"
"Hah, the way you thinking, no wonder..." The words that came out of her mouth were obliterated by Kaiden's depressed face.
"No wonder I'm single, right?" Kaiden gritted his teeth and spoke up for her.
Amelia blinked her innocent eyes. "You said it yourself. I didn't say anything."
Amelia always had her ways, so Kaiden could only use his hand to rub on his cheek, sulking.
Amelia was more fond of him seeing his behavior.
Considering Kaiden's actual age, he was a young man who had just graduated. Relying on the authority of his family and his talent, he had developed some bad habits.
If he could slightly change these habits, presumably, he would grow up as a very charismatic man.
After all, Kaiden was not a debauchee in the general sense. He was talented enough to match his looks. For example, the Streams Villa where Sawyer lives was made by him.
Helplessly, his not-so-cute personality, coupled with his misogyny, made him a well-known weirdo in the circle.
Weirdo, to put it in a more serious way, this meant that he was a monster.
This also led Kaiden to increasingly became mean, which was a vicious cycle.
Amelia quickly restrained her thoughts. Since she had no intention of helping him, she should not have too much sympathy. "Just say it. You must have something important to tell me since you came to me unexpectedly, right?"
Kaiden curled his lips. What he said was like a bolt out of the blue to Amelia. "Your husband called me last night. He was very concerned about you. He even asked me to keep my hands off you..."
Amelia was shocked. "What did you say?! Did Patrick contact you last night?"
"Yeah, why are you so surprised?" Kaiden glanced at her. His eyes were full of sarcasm. "Didn't you tell him that you've lent me the car yourself?"
"I..." She did not!
Amelia denied it in a hurry in her heart, but she did not show it on her face.
No wonder Patrick suddenly ran out last night. It turned out that he had gone to make a phone call!
"Why?" Amelia looked at him with great confusion.
"Because..." This was related to Sawyer, Patrick, and Sissi's pasts. If he told her about it, what would she think? She would definitely think that it was a
scheme for him to get close to her!
Even if the truth was... it was indeed the case!
Kaiden took a deep breath and said, "I could only tell you that Patrick didn't suspect that I had an affair with you. Is this enough?"
"Not enough!" Amelia looked at him fixedly. "What I want to know is whether Patrick knows about the cooperation between your cousin and me."
"He doesn't know, and I didn't tell him either." Kaiden answered quickly.
That was good...
Hearing this, Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. Since the Eastern District project was about to be finalized, she would not allow any mistakes to happen!
After the alarm in her heart was temporarily relieved, Amelia pulled her lips and said to the man in front of her, "Kaiden, your information is very useful to me.
Thank you."
Kaiden was not willing to admit that he also breathed a sigh of relief with her, but his tone was still very arrogant. "Should I say 'don't mention it'? Can't you give me something more practical?"
Amelia asked with understanding, "Tell me. What do you want?"
Kaiden said, "I want to be the chief construction designer of your company and take part in the design of the Eastern project, OK?"
