Mr. Patrick, who had lived a good life, still looked confused. "I understand! But why did we come to such an outrageously terrible, low-grade hospital?"
Amelia shook her shoulders innocently and said, "There's no other choice. This is the nearest hospital to The Hopper Mansion. I'm not used to driving your sports car, so I can only stick to the nearest one."
Patrick was dissatisfied. "My sports car is so good in function but you are not used to it? I think you are just unwilling to bring me around, so you stick to the nearest one!"
Amelia gave a yawn. "If you insist in thinking so, there's nothing I can do. Well... Can you sleep already? I'm sleepy..."
As her voice fell, she stood up from her chair and walked to the door.
Patrick got anxious that he cared less but bounced up and sat on the hospital bed. He chased after Amelia's back with a voice full of grief and indignation. "You won't be so cruel to abandon a patient and go back to the Land of Fragrance alone, will you?"
Upon hearing this, Amelia looked back and found that Patrick was staring at her with his head tilted.
The originally adorable position was completely destroyed by Patrick's distorted facial expression.
Amelia asked in response, "I have asked the doctor to lock the door. Do you think I still have the possibility to leave?"
Patrick breathed a sigh of relief, held his crooked neck and lay back on the pillow, but his eyes were still fixed on her tightly.
Amelia did not understand what he was trying to do, acting like a watchdog.
Turning around, she pulled the curtains on both sides of the door to the middle to block the gaze of the people walking in the corridor, then she got back.
Seeing this, Patrick was completely relieved.
He patted the remaining little gap beside him and said mightily to Amelia, "Come on and sleep with me!"
Amelia knew that he did it out of kindness, but...
"It's a single bed. It can't fit the two of us."
In fact, she lied to him. The single bed could accommodate two person, as long as the two were lying in an opposite direction.
The time she went to visit George, she passed by the room of other patients and ran into this method that could save space.
However, she did not intend to share this method with Patrick, because she was afraid that her foot would unconsciously kick his neck if she turned over tonight which would cause trouble.
"Then what are you going to do?" When Patrick entered the room, he had observed that there was nothing in this private room except for a lousy bed and a broken cabinet.
This was also one of the reasons why he clamoured to go back to the the Land of Fragrance, because he could not bear to see his wife catch a cold!
Amelia did not care too much and said, "Since there's no extra bed, I can just lie on your bedside. In this way, I can get to know your movements at night as soon as possible."
As a young person, it was fine to deal with it occasionally for one night! Amelia thought optimistically.
Patrick was touched. His wife was just sharp-tongued but soft-hearted. "What if you... catch a cold tomorrow?"
Amelia smiled and said, "Come on, it's summer now, and there is no air conditioner here. Just lend me your suit jacket as a cover. It will be fine."
"How could it be?" Patrick denied without hesitation. "It's better for you to cover with the quilt, and I'll cover myself with the suit jacket!"
While Amelia was absent-minded, Patrick rubbed his tense eyebrows and looked at her with a face of relief. "So, that time when I met you at the nightclub, it was actually my first time."
A few seconds later, Amelia's glances that had lost focus were fixed again.
She looked back at Patrick slowly and asked, "What did you say?"
Patrick's eyes darkened. "I said I haven't touched Sissi before! I also said my first time was completely given to you!"
His blunt words made her blush.
He looked away slightly and heard her say, "Although it's quite unbelievable, but..."
"What do you mean 'it's quite unbelievable'? I have explained it so clearly, but you're taking my words as nothing, aren't you?"
Patrick felt hurt. He had confessed what he should have and should not have, but in exchange, he got her distrust as a reply for the moment?
This woman really good at hurting him with words!
Amelia struggled a little while looking at him. "Sorry, I..."
Patrick interrupted with a dark face, "You don't have to explain! Because in your heart, I am a man who likes to indulge in alcohol and women, and a man who would act absurdly!"
As he said that, he turned his face away angrily, but he seemed to forget about his neck. In the end, he was the one who suffered from this movement.
