"Doctor!" Amelia's tone was heavy. After interrupting the doctor, she forced a smile and continued, "I didn't say that they were sending old newspapers, but there's one thing that you're right about. My husband is not interested in newspapers and magazines. He usually watches TV most of the time."
The doctor suddenly realized and said, "Oh! I see! Then I won't send newspapers in the future. Thank you for reminding me, Ms. Ramsay."
Amelia immediately got up to leave when she achieved what she wanted. "You're welcome, doctor. By the way, I have to go out to deal with an urgent matter now, but I'm worried that my husband will be alone in the ward. Can you send someone to take care of him? I'll come back in about two hours."
The doctor asked uncertainly, "Does Ms. Ramsay really need to go out at this hour?"
It took Amelia a second to understand the doctor's uncertainty. She smiled apologetically and said, "Yes, I'm leaving now."
"I'll walk you out," the doctor got up and said.
Amelia quickly refused. "No, thanks. I'm already very familiar with the place. Doctor, please find someone to take care of my husband for me as soon as possible."
As soon as she walked out of the doctor's office, Amelia thought for a moment and decided to take her cell phone out of the leather bag and call Patrick's secretary.
The call was picked up soon.
Amelia greeted the secretary first and then said, "Miss secretary, I have a question to ask you."
The secretary mumbled, "Madam Ramsay, do tell."
Amelia frowned slightly and asked, "Miss secretary, are you having your meal? I'll call you later."
"No, no, no..." The secretary said, "I'll eat while you speak, so we won't delay each other. What do you think, Madam Ramsay?"
Amelia smiled gently and said, "Alright, I want to ask you, who sent the newspapers to Patrick usually?"
"Me!" The secretary blurted out. "I did everything in and out of Mr. Hopper's office, and I gave everything he needed to him personally."
Seeing that the secretary's words were almost the same as her thoughts, Amelia immediately asked, "Oh, did you send the newspaper today?"
"Not yet. Isn't Mr. Hopper treating dermatophytosis in the hospital? I thought it would not be too late to send to him after he comes back to work." After a pause, the secretary asked in confusion, "Madam Ramsay, why do you ask this?"
Amelia organized her words but found that they were useless. Any reason would be useless at this moment.
The secretary was not an idiot. She knew Patrick very well. She could not lie to the secretary, like how she lied to the doctor.
"Miss secretary," Amelia finally said, "I'm going to talk about the matter of newspaper with you! I'm wondering if you can take out today's newspaper and not send it to Patrick's office?"
The secretary asked curiously, "Why?"
Amelia said solemnly, "Because this relates to a small secret that linked to the interests of Apex Construction. This small secret is not fatal to Patrick, but it is likely to be a chip on his shoulder. But this chip is a life-saving straw for Apex and me. Miss secretary, do you understand what I mean?"
The secretary was bewildered and said, "Err, I seem to understand it, but also seem to confuse about it..."
So, Madam Ramsay, as long as the things you need me to do were not harmful to the company's interests and Mr. Hopper's life, I am happy to help. I hope your company can get back on track soon."
"Thank you..." Amelia's eyes were slightly hot, but she could only say these two words.
Why was Patrick always blind on the matter that even the outsiders could understand? When could he put himself in her shoes and think of her?
Suppressing her slight sorrow, Amelia went on and said, "Miss secretary, if possible, please help me shield all the information about Apex Construction in front of Patrick, including newspapers and magazines!"
The secretary was shocked. "Wow, Madam Ramsay, you're being over nervous, aren't you?"
Amelia said, "There's no other way. There's nothing I can do about it."
"Alright then... but I still have the same condition. If Mr. Hopper finds out any clues, I could only tell him what you asked me to do." The secretary emphasized.
"Of course!" Amelia answered without hesitation.
The secretary then asked, "Madam Ramsay, do you still have anything else to tell me?"
Amelia thought for a moment and asked, "By the way, does Mr. Hopper often surf the Internet?"
The secretary quickly answered, "Mr. Hopper doesn't have much time to go online during his working hours. I think it's quite strange that I have an impression of his only time on the Internet."
