Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1151

"Really?" As if he did not notice the reluctance on her face, Gramps Hopper answered with a smile, "In fact, if you and Patrick can't be husband and wife, being brother and sister is not too bad. We are still a family at least."

"Gramps, it's good as long as you're happy." What else could Amelia say?

Gramps Hopper looked at her with a hidden smile and said seriously, "I'll instruct him, as your elder brother, to check on some other young bachelors here in Northville. You're still young, so don't be hung up on this issue. As for you, you should also help Patrick find a good wife to be your sister-in-law according to your standards as soon as possible."

Unconsciously, the blade grazed over Amelia's fingernails and cut off a thin slice of them.

Amelia suddenly came back to her senses and looked down at her hands with a pale face.

Although her hand was not bleeding, she still felt pain.

This feeling of pain came from within her heart.

Seeing this, Gramps Hopper immediately asked, "Oh! What happened?"

Amelia looked up and explained in a panic, "I'm okay! The knife was slippery."

After relieved, Gramps Hopper sounded again, "That's good if not injured. By the way, Amelia, what kind of men are you interested in? Tell me and I'll give you some advice."

Amelia unattentively replied, "...Anyone will do."

Gramps then reprimanded her in a low voice, "Girl, you can't just be that simply with marriage."

Burying the uneasy feeling in her heart whilst forcing out a smile, Amelia answered, "Gramps, I'll tell you when I've thought it through."

Gramps nodded. "Sure. If you see anyone you like, you can ask your brothers to give you a reference. They know more people in Northville compared to me."

Asking Patrick to give her a reference...

Bitterly, Amelia closed her red lips slightly, "Understood, gramps."

After a while...

Amelia stalked out of the ward...

Owen, who was leaning against the wall, raised his eyes and asked in a friendly tone, "How's gramps?"

Amelia replied frankly, "He's extremely happy."

Happily, Owen rejoiced, "Great!"

Amelia gurgled, "Owen, gramps asked you to go in." "Okay," Owen said, showing concern for her. "Then what about you?"

Amelia looked towards another ward and said softly, "I'm going to accompany my father for a bit."

"Okay, Amelia. Please do send my regards as well." After answering brightly, Owen stepped up and disappeared into Gramps Hopper' room.

"Wait!" As soon as Amelia moved, she was stopped by Patrick who had been paying attention to her.

She was forced to stop and look at him. Without any emotion, she asked, "What is it?"

Gently lifting Amelia's delicate chin, Patrick coldly opened his mouth and sounded, "Owen, gramps...humph, you pretend to be unwilling on the surface, but in fact, this way of addressing each other sounds more pleasant than how it should be. How hypocritical!"

His accusation stunned her instantaneously, and she retorted in a bad mood, "It was Owen's idea for me to call gramps. If you're dissatisfied, you can tell him directly and not vent your anger on me."

However, Patrick argued coldly, "Do you think that you can act up on me as long as you have their support? Don't forget that your father's illness..."

Amelia raised her voice and interrupted, "You don't have to remind me. I know that gramps and Owen are being kind and want to protect me in this way! But they have underestimated how evil you truly are, and I know that you'll still retaliate against me. But whatever. There's still a long way to go, and whatever method you use, I'll accompany you till the end!"

Patrick did not expect her to be so perceptive. After pausing for a moment, he replied, "It's good that you understand! Listen, if I want to touch you, no one is able to protect you!"

Amelia curled her lips in self-mockery. "I understand. Then... may I go and meet my father now?"

Patrick retracted his hand and said impatiently, "Get lost!"

"If he can't hold on any longer, then he should win her back as soon as possible!"

Gramps Hopper answered seriously.

"It's just that Patrick is blinded by hatred for now. I'm afraid that he will try to avoid his feelings for Amelia."

"That's why we need to give him a push."

Owen nodded and continued to ask, "Then, about the official announcement..?"

Gramps Hopper replied in a low voice, "I just wanted to test Patrick. When I said that we were going to hold the announcement, Patrick looked so uneasy. It's obvious that he loves Amelia very much."

"So that's how it is."

Gramps Hopper sighed and said, "Think about it. How can I really announce to the public that I've taken Amelia as my sworn granddaughter? If she was going to get back together with Patrick again, won't it be a huge mess? We were just merely

scheming to deceive that kind-hearted girl." "You are truly wise."

After Amelia came out of the hospital, Huxton, who had been waiting downstairs immediately came up and greeted, "President Ramsay, let me take you home."

Amelia smiled at him, "Don't you have to wait for your master?"

Huxton answered, "It's sir who instructed me to take you home."

Upon hearing this, a hint of mockery appeared on the corners of Amelia's mouth. "Claiming to send me home is just a fagade, but keeping watch on my movements should be his real intention. Patrick wants to know if I would just go home or go to Sawyer's, right?"

Huxton did not respond.

Seeing that Huxton was tongue tied, Amelia sighed, "Huxton, you're really an honest man. Dr. Scarlett is a lucky woman."

As her voice fell, she raised her hand and stopped the nearest taxi. After opened the door and got on it, she left carefreely.
