After seeing who it was, Audrey's expression changed from being shocked to unpleasant, "Hey, are you a ghost or what? Why do you have to appear in such a way every time!"
"I'm not here for fun!" Kaiden explained the purpose of his visit. "I'm here to see your boss. Call her office's landline for me."
"You came to meet President Ramsay? But she wasn't here since noon. If you want to see her you might need to go to her house," Andrea replied.
Kaiden did not believe it. "That's impossible, I saw her car just now!"
"It's President Ramsay's car but the driver is me, brother!" Audrey was afraid that Kaiden would not believe her, so she shook the car key hanging on her index finger and said, "Hey, you should know just by looking at the logo, I could never afford one of this."
Upon seeing this, Kaiden said in an almost inaudible voice, with unconcealable disappointment in his words, "Since she's not here, then I'll come again tomorrow."
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard Audrey's voice beside his ear. "Oh right, where's your precious spider? Why aren't you carrying it with you?"
Kaiden subconsciously touched his pocket. He asked in confusion, "Yes you're right, where's my spider?"
Audrey strangely narrowed her eyes and asked, "Do you need me to help you find it?"
"If you don't mind." Kaiden answered.
Seeing the anxiety on his face, Audrey decided not to tease him and said, "I think I'd better tell you, your rose is waiting in President Ramsay's office since noon, it has not left the office at all."
"Really?" Kaiden said doubtfully.
Audrey pouted her lips at Amelia's office and said, "Why don't you go and take a look yourself?"
Kaiden really did as he was told.
A moment later, he returned with Rose's body in his hands and asked coldly, "Hey Audrey, did you step on my spider?"
Audrey shrugged her shoulders and said, "I have phobia on spiders. I would die even if I touch them, let alone trample them! Think about it again. The murderer is someone else."
A few seconds later...
"If it's not you, it's me then." Kaiden's answer this time was very definite.
"Yeap." Audrey answered in a ravishing tone, indicating that he was right.
"So, it's really me..." Kaiden looked at Rose with guilt in his eyes.
Seeing this, Audrey could not help to ask, "By the way, this is your precious baby. Didn't you realize that you trampled on her?"
Kaiden shook his head with a bitter smile.
He had been in a state of unease for the entire afternoon. If Audrey had not mentioned it, he might not have thought about Rose at all.
"You really are anxious about meeting President Ramsay huh."
Audrey said with a mocking tone and it made Kaiden unhappy. "What does this have to do with you?"
Audrey narrowed her eyes and smiled. "You're a man, after all. Just admit that you're worried for her. Why are you so shy?"
"You talk too much." What did she mean by 'you're a man after all'? He was indeed a man!
Kaiden caught a glimpse of the glass bottle he used to keep his spider on the office table out of the corner of his eye. He could not help reaching out to grab it, as he wanted to put the corpse inside.
But Audrey was triggered by the act of him doing so without asking.
She pressed down on his hand and stopped him from moving. "Did I say that I'm lending you the bottle?"
Kaiden froze. For a moment, he was lost for words.
Kaiden thought for a moment, then muttered, "Who knows what would I do..."
Audrey could not help but shudder. "You freak! How can you do such things to a pregnant woman!"
Kaiden said with sorrow, "I just want to prove to her that I'm heterosexual."
Audrey stared at him, it was really hard to imagine that this man would actually shine when he's not being mad and crazy.
That was not right, Kaiden has always been an outstanding fella. It was just he chose to act like an ass in front of her.
If it were not for this, she would be happy to help Kaiden to show his love to Amelia.
When he noticed that Audrey had been over-staring, Kaiden could not help but sink his voice. "Why are you looking at me like this?"
Ever since he was a child, he had bathed in such glances, so much so that he started to lost interest in women when he grew up, until Amelia appeared...
He thought that there must be something special about Audrey since she was working with Amelia, but she was just the same as all the other women he had met.
Audrey withdrew her gaze awkwardly. "I'm sorry. I was lost in my own thought just now. I'm definitely not daydreaming over you."
Kaiden let out a snort. She was lying straight into his eyes.
The best way to avoid embarrassment was to change the subject, which was exactly what Audrey wanted to do now. "You said that you wanted to prove to President Ramsay that you're heterosexual, but as far as I know, she's the kind of person that would take things her way, Aren't you afraid what you do would have a result in contrast to what you think would happen?"
Kaiden pouted his lips and said, "In fact, things have already gone wrong for me, but I don't care."
As he spoke, he put the spider back into the glass bottle. He was going to take it home and make a memorial for it.
"Do you really not care?" She looked at him with a smile. If someone really did not care, he or she would never say that they did not care about it!
