Amelia was getting fed up with Alice who was constantly trying to protect Brittany. "Aunt Alice, I've forgiven Brittany for too many times. I've been too easy on her, don't you think it's time for her to grow up and learn?"
Alice knew that she was forcing Amelia but there was nothing she could do. Brittany was her only daughter. "Can I ask her to apologize to you right now? How about I reduce her monthly allowance and give it to you as compensation..."
Amelia said bluntly, "Aunt Alice, it's too late for you to say anything because I have already beaten Brittany up."
Alice was stunned for a moment. She suppressed her tears and said, "She really deserved to be punished."
Amelia took a deep breath and said, "I hurt her knee too. She is currently hospitalized."
All of a sudden, Alice's tears started to roll down her cheeks.
After a while, she wiped her tears and asked, "So, Amelia have you calmed down now?"
Amelia closed her eyes and said what she didn't mean, "Yes, I'm no longer mad at her."
Patrick did not say anything. He stood aside and listened silently.
This was because Gramps had given Amelia the full authority to handle this matter. If The Hopper Family continued to intervene and torment Alice, then they would be at fault.
Amelia then said to Alice, "Aunt Alice, Brittany is now at ward A-05. Do you want to pay her a visit?"
Unexpectedly, Alice turned down the offer. "There's no need in doing so. When she sees me, she might start to cry again. Amelia, you are much mature and you know how to handle things well. Can you just tell me how severe was Brittany's wound?"
Amelia told Alice what Kaiden told her, "The doctor said that it's just a normal scratch. As long as she rests and changes her bandages on time, she will recover soon."
Speaking of which, it was ridiculous for George, Alice, and Brittany to all be hospitalized one after another. Was this how their fates are destined to be?
After letting out a sigh of relief, Alice said with embarrassment, "Amelia, Mr. Patrick, I'm the one who didn't teach her well. On one hand, I'm sorry for her father, and on the other hand, I'm sorry for causing trouble for The Hopper Family."
Tears swelled up in her eyes as she spoke.
Amelia did not want to pressure her anymore as she sensed the guilt in Alice. "Aunt Alice, please don't say that..."
Alice still could not stop her tears. "To be honest, I've just dreamt of your father. He asked me how are the children doing. I felt sorry as I have been constantly spoiling her and allowing her to do what she wants. I am her accomplice!"
No wonder Alice was calling out George names in her dreams...
She was carrying a heavy burden as she had nowhere to vent out her burden. She could only express her guilt through her dreams.
After Amelia left Alice's ward, she saw the nurse following Patrick out from the ward from the corner of her eyes and it looks like the nurse was trying to say something to Patrick.
Amelia was already in a bad mood. She frowned when she heard the nurse chattering beside her.
"Mr. Patrick, you're such a nice person. You're divorced and yet you still care for your mother-in-law's condition. I was so touched that my tears almost fell. Why haven't I met such a good man like you before?"
Patrick's eyes glinted as he teased, "Didn't you just run into one just now?"
The nurse said shyly, "It's a pity that I'm a nobody. Mr. Patrick would have forgotten me the moment he turned around..."
"How could that be possible?" Patrick's voice was as mellow as fine wine. "I'm not an old man in my seventies or eighties. I wouldn't be that forgetful."
The next second, he heard Amelia's gloating laughter.
Patrick turned back and glared at her angrily. "Why did you stop? Why didn't you keep walking? I thought you like to go against me?"
Amelia stopped smiling and said calmly, "I'm not as stupid as you are. I know there's an elevator in front of me, so I wouldn't want to wipe it with my nose."
Patrick rubbed his nose and thought, "Lucky for me, my nose is still here!"
At this moment, Amelia hit him with another sentence. "By the way, why don't you accompany your beautiful nurse, why did you come after me?"
Patrick said seriously, "Fang has her own work. I can't bear to disturb her."
"Fang?" Amelia reckoned that this should be the nurse's nickname. She felt like there was a knot in her heart, which made her unhappy. "In such a short time, you found out the nurse's name. You're really the philandering Mr. Patrick."
"I didn't ask. She told me herself and said that if it's possible, she wants me to call her by her nickname for... a lifetime," Patrick said with a cocky tone.
Amelia's eyes twitched as she said, "With such ungodly behaviour of yours, I am relieved for your ancestors. I thought that you were old and weak and it would be hard for you to date a young girl in the future..."
Patrick scoffed, "There is no doubt that a divorce is a disadvantage for women but, for men like me, it's an advantage. So, you don't need to worry about me."
Amelia smiled and said, "Do you know what your advantage in a women's view point?"
"My advantages?" Patrick said without thinking, "That's too much to be listed down."
"Nah, there's only one!" Amelia stretched her hand and rubbed her thumb, index and middle finger against each other. "What they really like, is this." Amelia gestured.
