Amelia's face darkened. She suppressed her anger and stuffed the cup into Kaiden's hand, signalling him to feed Shawn some water.

Although he did not like to serve others, he cooperated when he saw Amelia's expression. He took the cup and sat beside Shawn, feeding him the water while looking at the show that was about to go on.

After Amelia ordered Kaiden to do what she needed to, she turned her head and stared at the culprit.

Patrick was irritated by her stare and his chest heaved heavily. "What are you trying to say by looking at me like this? Do you think I did it on purpose?"

Amelia asked, "Didn't you?"

Patrick said coldly, "No, I didn't."

Amelia said sarcastically, "Are you sure that you would actually be genuinely caring that you would spoonfeed Shawn?"

This was not the first time that something like this had happened!

Patrick had purposely stuffed a mouthful of rice into Shawn's mouth when he was talking, causing him to choke.

She thought Patrick would stop such a dangerous prank but he did it again when she was not paying attention to him!

Patrick defended himself, "I didn't. He was the one who choked himself this time."

Amelia said sarcastically, "How many times do you think you can fool me?"

At this moment, Amelia felt that her clothes were tugged by someone.

When she looked down, she realized that it was Shawn who tugged her. She could not help but ask softly, "Shawn, what are you trying to say? Just take your time..."

Shawn was coughing so hard that his eyes and throat hurt. He wanted to say something but he was incapable of producing any words.

The more anxious he was, the harder it was for him to speak.

He could only point at Patrick and shake his finger, hoping that Amelia would understand what he meant.

However, Amelia placed her attention on the cup. She poured him another cup of water and instructed him to drink slowly.

Patrick was angered by her constantly changing attitude and felt a pain in his chest. He said, "Was he born with such flaw which caused him to eat clumsily, or maybe he would start to cough violently if he was getting nervous or anyhow." Amelia was however enraged by Patrick's attitude.

If it was before, she would endure it. But now, Shawn meant a lot more to her. He was her saviour! How could she bear to stand aside and do nothing?

"Patrick, I think you're the one with a flaw, you are born brainless. In short, you're an idiot!"

"Ha..." Kaiden could not hold back anymore as he put on a happy and gratified face.

It turned out that he was not the only one who was scolded by Amelia. Even Patrick, her former husband was being called an idiot by her.

Thinking about what had happened, what he had suffered before was nothing compared to this.

Patrick glared at him. "What did you say?!"

"I said you're an idiot! An idiot!" She emphasized her tone and repeated.

"Amelia Ramsay!" Patrick slammed the lunch box onto the floor. No one knew if he did it unintentionally or was he playing pranks again.

Amelia erupted as she saw Patrick's intolerable

anger.

She pointed at the door and shouted sharply. It was so sharp that it became shrill. "Get out of here! You're not welcomed here!!"

He noticed that ever since Patrick was gone, the food became more delicious and the air became fresher.

While Amelia was wiping the food from Shawn's body, a big palm pressed gently on hers, preventing her from continuing with cleaning the mess.

Kaiden who had already finished eating was picking his teeth. Upon seeing this scene, he burst out in anger. "Hey, kid, what are you doing? Are you trying to take advantage of Amelia!"

As he spoke, he stepped forward to push Shawn's arm away.

Shawn stretched out his hand to block it and said seriously, "I have something to tell Ms. Ramsay." Kaiden frowned unhappily. "Even so, why do you have to touch her? For me, I think you're just taking advantage of her."

A hint of coldness flashed through Shawn's eyes. "I would tell her the truth that you didn't dare to speak of."

"Why wouldn't I dare..." The words that followed suddenly stopped. Kaiden was surprised and said, "Huh? You can actually speak?" "I wasn't mute to begin with." Shawn said coldly while pushing Kaiden's hand away.

At this moment, Kaiden seemed to have thought of something. His expression was no longer as heartily as before.

Amelia felt something wrong with the atmosphere but she could not tell why. "Shawn, do you feel better?"

"Yes, Ms. Ramsay, I'm fine now." Shawn regained his attitude in front of Amelia.

Amelia was embarrassed by the purity and kindness in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect Patrick to be constantly causing trouble. In fact, I should have driven him out when he choked you for the first time."

Shawn shook his head and asked, "Ms. Ramsay, I would like you to lend me your hand, is that fine with you?"

"Hmm?" Amelia was puzzled and nodded. "Sure."

With her consent, Shawn guided her hand all the way to his throat.

Kaiden asked with a faint smile when he saw the change on expression on Amelia's face, "Ms. Ramsay, do you feel the scars?"
