Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1463

Derrick, who was being asked what they should do next, quickly answered, "Let's go."

Let's go.

Amelia felt helpless when she heard the answer. Her grandfather was truly indifferent.

In fact, she was thinking that even if Derrick had hypocritically invited her to get in the car as Kaleb did, at least it would prove that he had noticed her existence.

When the Porsche whizzed by, the weariness in Audrey's eyes immediately disappeared. She whispered to Amelia, "Madam Amelia, they're gone."

"Yeah, they're gone..." said Amelia while looking up at the sky. The calmness on her face had faded, replaced by disappointment and agony.

As the car drove off without them, Audrey bit her lower lip and wanted to comfort Amelia. However, she did not know how to.

After she thought for a while, Audrey said, "Madam Amelia, Mr. Hopper hasn't come yet. Why don't we go to a nearby cafe and wait for him?"

Amelia nodded and said, "All right."

Just as they were walking to the cafe, Audrey found that Amelia who was walking in front of her suddenly stopped. She hurriedly stopped her pace as well and asked, "Madam Amelia, what's wrong?"

Amelia looked up at Apex Construction Corporation, which was not far away and muttered to herself, "There's going to be a drastic change to the management."

Amelia's simple words made Audrey flurried. She lost control of her emotions and rushed forward to hold Amelia’s hand, only to find that her hand was so cold that it was frightening!

Amelia turned around and looked at her assistant. "What's wrong?"

Audrey only realized that Amelia was far less calm than what she let on after feeling the coldness of her hand.

At this moment, thoughts were buzzing in Audrey's mind, "The reason why Madam Amelia Ramsay called Mr. Hopper was not only to suppress the arrogance of Brittany and others, but she also needed a powerful and reliable person to rely on, right?" thought Audrey to herself.

As time ticked by, the two cups of coffee in front of Amelia and Audrey were untouched.

It was obvious that they had only come in to have a seat.

Just then, Amelia's phone rang.

She picked it up and found that it was from Patrick. She then asked Audrey to call for the bill, and the two left the cafe in a hurry.

A Lamborghini parked by the fountain of Apex Construction Corporation, and in front of the car stood a handsome man dressed in a suit. He was holding his phone, contacting the person he was searching for.

Amelia pressed the 'answer' button. While striding quickly, she greeted the man on the other side of the phone, "Mr. Hopper, you're here?"

Patrick answered with a slight hum and stopped looking around because he had spotted Amelia.

Just as they were getting closer, Amelia suddenly did something beyond Patrick's expectations. She rushed into his arms.

From Patrick's perspective, Amelia was throwing herself at him. From Audrey's perspective, Amelia's action was asking consolation from Patrick which made Audrey's heart ached for Amelia.

"What... what's wrong?" Patrick noticed that Audrey was also coming over and asked her in a surprised tone as he did not anticipate the hug.

Audrey sighed and shook her head, filling Patrick with questions.

"Mrs. Hopper." He turned his gaze back to Amelia and asked with both joy and confusion, "What happened?"

Patrick was extremely glad that Amelia had hugged him, but it was also obvious that the woman in his arms was trembling like she had taken a lashing.

His experience told him that it was a heavy blow because Amelia was not the kind of person who sought comfort from him when she encountered some small setbacks!

Ah!

His actions made Audrey blushed!

When he lowered his head, he saw Amelia leaning on his chest and her beautiful eyes gazing downward, tears welling up in her eyes.

Patrick's heart panged. He hugged Amelia tighter and asked in a low voice, "Shall I take you home for a rest?"

Amelia raised her face and shook her head at him. "No, I have an agreement with

Brittany. Let’s go to the hospital where dad is to verify my identity."

As soon as he heard her, Patrick understood right away. He also knew the reason Amelia had asked him to come. It was not only for a hug, but she also wanted him to be a witness.

"Okay, I got it. I'll go with you," he said without hesitation.

"Thank you," Amelia replied softly.

"I don't want you to say thank you to me." Patrick looked at her helplessly. Then, he carried her into the car and put her in her seat.

After that, he stood up straight and turned back to ask, "Assistant Atkinson, can you drive?"

"Uh, I... I can!" Audrey was still immersed in Patrick's charm. So, when Patrick suddenly spoke to her, she could not help but stutter.

"Okay, I have something to discuss with Amelia. Please drive the car for us. Oh, by the way, the address of my father-in-law's hospital is..." Patrick told her calmly. Then, he confirmed with Audrey, "Have you heard it all clearly, Assistant Atkinson?"

"Yes!" Audrey nodded with certainty.
