Yasir made tea and said eagerly, "Of course, Jonathan must be so shocked that his eyeballs would have dropped! Who could have thought that I've reached an agreement with you before he approached me?"
"Hahaha!" Kaleb slapped his thigh and laughed. "I've wanted to see him make a fool of himself!"
"That's right. As he was truly blind to have offended you." Yasir brought the fresh brewed cup of tea to Kaleb. He had even reminded him flatteringly, "Be careful, it's hot!"
"Yasir, you are being too courteous! Here's what we agreed on before. Quick, take this." Kaleb took over the tea cup and handed over a glittering bank card to him.
Yasir licked his lips, and he was so excited that his hands were trembling. "Urgh, it's quite embarrassing."
Kaleb did not miss the greed in his eyes. "Just take it. You deserve it!"
"Then... I'll just do as you say?" Yasir, like a wolf waiting for its prey, was already ready to act.
"Stop dawdling like an old lady. Just take it!" Kaleb simply grabbed his hand and spread it. Then he slapped the bank card into his palm.
Yasir felt the light figure of the card in his hand, but his face turned red with excitement.
Kaleb had spent a lot this time. He actually bribed him with one million dollars for him to dismiss Amelia from the acting board of directors and to vote for him.
Money could make the mare go, and Yasir was no exception. As long as he could afford the price that he was satisfied with, he would be willing to even vote for a pig!
At that moment, Kaleb could not help but laughed more evilly as he witnessed Yasir taking the card.
In order to work the plan out, he had deliberately sold a house and had a conflict with one of his mistresses. Only then he had enough funds to be utilised.
He had thought about it. There were 60 persons in the top management of the company. 25 of them were on his side while 20 of them were on Jonathan's side. The remaining 15 persons were on the neutral side.
The company had a rule that as long as more than half of the top management passed the vote, they had the right to appoint or remove a director's position!
Therefore, he only needed to win over another six persons to successfully drag Amelia down!
As for the six persons, Kaleb had chosen those who had more say in the neutral party. In this way, they might affect others to show support for him without the need to spend an extra amount of money!
While thinking, Kaleb had drunk up the tea. He got up and said to Yasir, "Well, I have an appointment with someone else so I'll leave first."
Yasir tried to retain him. "Are you not going to stay longer?"
Kaleb lowered his head and looked at his wristwatch. "No. Isn't Jonathan meeting you at eight o'clock? It's almost time. I'd better leave first so as not to be embarrassed if we meet later. But, it's a pity that I can't see his reaction."
Yasir said fawningly, "That's easy! I can imitate his reaction to you when we meet at the company tomorrow."
"That's great!" Kaleb laughed loudly and left Yasir's house.
After sending Kaleb off, Yasir looked down at the bank card in his hand. He did not hurry to keep it away. Instead, he threw it on the tea table casually, waiting for the arrival of the next guests.
Ding!
As soon as the doorbell rang, Yasir raised his head and glanced sideways at the clock on the wall. He then put on a funny look.
It had not been eight o'clock yet Jonathan had came. It was obvious that he was in a hurry to draw him over to his side.
The door opened. When Yasir was about to poke fun at Jonathan saying that he was a rare guest, he saw a truly rare guest the next second!
As for the tea set, Yasir had washed it and replaced the tea with new ones after Kaleb had left.
However, that was the standard of entertaining Jonathan. As Patrick was sitting in front of him at the moment, he had to prepare the most precious tea in his house!
While Yasir was busy doing so, Patrick sized him up as well as the surroundings. When he noticed the bank card on the tea table, he secretly curled his lips and kept silent.
"I don't know your taste so I simply brewed some. You guys can have a try."
He had used the best tea he had, but Yasir still pretended to be cool. He was anticipating Patrick's surprised expression.
But, after Patrick took a sip, he replied in a low voice, "Well, it indeed doesn't suit my taste."
Jonathan was a smart person and immediately understood. "This tea is too bitter."
How could it be bitter? It was just thick in taste!
However, seeing that Patrick and Jonathan had said it so seriously, Yasir could not help wondering if he had taken the wrong tea.
He hurriedly took a sip, but he accidentally burnt his tongue. And he could not taste anything.
Patrick smiled and asked, "Mr. Zouch, you don't usually drink tea, do you? You seem to not even know the basic steps of tasting tea."
Yasir was angry, but he could not show it. He could only hide his discontent as he replied, "That's right! I seldom drink tea."
Jonathan laughed in his heart. Everyone in the company knew that Yasir loved to boast about his tea. He had always said that he had piles of good teas that he could yet have time to taste. While being slapped in the face at the moment, he must be extremely angry.
