Another two days passed. Amelia found that Patrick would always go out at night, and then she would receive a call from The Hopper Family soon after he went out.
At first, she thought it was a coincidence. But since it happened every time, she started to suspect about it.
She found that whenever Patrick went out, there would be a call from The Hopper Family. And then soon after the call was over, Patrick would return home!
After several times, Amelia could not help but felt confused. At this time, she heard the sound of the door opening. She put down her phone that was burning hot and walked to the door.
Patrick was bending down and taking off his shoes after his return. As he took a casual glance, he saw a slim figure approached him silently under the yellowish light.
The corners of his mouth curled up. He maintained in his original posture, as if he did not notice the person came near from his back.
Amelia, who was unaware that he had noticed her, continued to approach his back silently.
She was getting closer, to the point that she could touch Patrick's back if she stretched her arm. When she was about to do so, he suddenly turned around and held her fingertips.
Amelia, who was startled instead, widened her eyes like a kitten. "What? Do you have eyes behind your back?"
Patrick chuckled and pulled her into his arms. He said contentedly, "I just seem to be able to sense you."
Amelia blushed slightly. "Mr. Hopper, can I ask you something?"
Patrick tightened his arms around her waist and said, "Go ahead."
"Did you ask Gramps and the other family members to call and talk to me these nights?"
So she was asking about that? He had thought that...
Patrick gradually relaxed his fingers and said, "Well, I'm afraid you'll feel bored if you stay here alone."
Should he not have been afraid that she would take things too hard?
Amelia was both amused and distressed. She had already promised him that she would never commit suicide for countless times. However, he was still worried. He would take her to work, and even find someone to accompany her when he went out at night. He seemed to be afraid that she would suicide once there was no one with her.
When Patrick saw Amelia was frustrated, he asked, "Amy, did they annoy you?"
Especially Florence, she was uncontrollably talkative. Sometimes Patrick would be so annoyed that he wanted to pinch her hard.
"Nah, they are all very humorous. Having them chat with me, I would be contented and not have the time to think about anything else."
Amelia knew that he feared her suicide most, so she simply declared that she would not have other thoughts in order to make him feel at ease.
"Oh?" Patrick lowered his head and looked at her. He asked somewhat jealously, "Did you not even think of me?"
Amelia tilted her head. "Would you believe if I say no?"
Patrick, who was born with such confidence, shook his head without hesitation. "I don't believe it."
Amelia threw up her hands and said, "That's it then. You've had the conclusion on your own. Why still bother asking me?"
"It's totally different! Tell me, did you actually miss me?" Patrick was bound to receive a satisfying answer from her.
She looked into his covetous eyes, Amelia gave in.
"Yes, yes! I think of you all the time. Especially when you are not at home, I would miss you more badly."
After a moment of silence—
Amelia barely held up a fierce look and glared at him. "What nonsense are you talking about? You pervert!"
When Patrick came to himself, he also wanted to curse himself badly.
"Oh, I mean..." He tried to save the situation. "I can't live without you."
However, Amelia did not listen at all. She shook his hand off with a disgusted look and left without looked back.
As soon as she turned around, her red ears were exposed into Patrick's sight. So before he could reflect on himself, he enjoyed her embarrassment in joy.
After Patrick took a bath, he came out of the bathroom with a towel covering his wet hair.
He saw Amelia was curling up on bed like a baby, and this made his heart skip a beat. He strode towards her.
Just as he was about to climb onto the bed, a water droplet suddenly fell from his hair. He frowned and thought that if he went to bed, the moisture on him would definitely touch Amy.
So he turned around and took a chair to the bedside of Amelia. After he sat down, he called while looked at her face, 'Amy?"
After Patrick called her name twice, Amelia's eyelids twitched. She opened her watery eyes and looked at him, "What, what's wrong?"
Patrick said softly, "Should I take you outside to have fun some days later?"
"Where are we going to have fun at?" Amelia was just awakened and looked a little silly.
