Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1539

Milton heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that Maryanne was finally eating.

But, it was not long before Maryanne asked again, "Dear, you're so good at peeling prawns, but you don't eat prawns regularly."

Milton stopped wiping his hands. Indeed, he did not like prawns. But, Amelia did. He had learned the techniques of peeling prawns and deveining them just for Amelia.

Before Milton could reply, Maryanne continued, "Is it because someone around you likes eating prawns?"

Milton responded quickly. "Yeah, it's you."

"Is that so? So, you're doing this for me? I'm so touched," Maryanne replied as she chuckled dryly.

Milton answered helplessly, "Tell me, why are you always so enigmatic?"

"I'm not, I think you're being oversensitive," Maryanne denied.

"Maryanne..."

Just as Milton was about to let her elaborate, Maryanne suddenly picked up a prawn and threw it into his bowl. "Stop talking nonsense. Let's eat."

Who was the one talking nonsense?

Milton gritted his teeth and began to eat the prawn.

After dinner.

After Milton cleaned up the kitchen, he entered the living room and found Maryanne busy using his laptop.

In a hurry, he took a glance and saw the familiar email interface on the browser. Remembering that he had been contacting Amelia via email, Milton dashed forward and grabbed the laptop from Maryanne's lap, shouting, "What are you doing?"

Maryanne's hand, which were on the keyboard a second ago, was left hanging in the air the next second, which slightly irritated her. Furthermore, Milton roaring at her out of the blue angered her even more. "I should be asking you that question. Why did you grab the laptop from me all of a sudden?"

"This laptop is mine!"

"Yours? But, we've agreed back then that I could also use it if I need it!"

Milton recalled that agreement but continued, "But, you can't check my email!"

Some email sites were logged in automatically.

As long the same browser was logged in with the same account on the laptop multiple times, a password was not required again. All that was needed after that was the verification code.

That was why Milton was so sure that Maryanne must have secretly checked his email when he was not paying attention. He ignore other things she did, but this behaviour of prying into his privacy was challenging his bottom line. He would not allow it!

Hearing him, Maryanne was in no hurry to want the laptop back. She stared at him with a faint smile and crossed her arms across her chest. "What did you say? Did you say I was checking your emails?"

Maryanne's expression was strange. This was not the expression she should have when she was caught red-handed.

Realizing this, Milton glimpsed down at the notebook in his arms and saw that the website was, like he expected, logged in. However, the account on the top left showed that it was not his but Maryanne's account!

Milton finally understood that he had wronged Maryanne because of his assumption!

Taking in his ever-changing expression, Maryanne coldly continued, "I was only using the same email interface as yours. If I had known earlier that you would misunderstand, I would've applied for a different one."

Perhaps it was because of his focused gaze, Maryanne suddenly stopped typing and raised her head to stretch her neck before lowering her head to continue tapping away on the keyboard.

Milton's expectation was in vain, and he finally could not help but cough, saying, "Maryanne, you've been writing for half an hour."

Maryanne nodded without looking up.

"Do you have so much to say to Hobart?" So much that half an hour was not sufficient?

Maryanne explained, "I'm slow at typing."

Only then did Milton notice that Maryanne's technique of typing was wrong. He suggested, "Why don't I teach you?"

"No need, I'm used to it."

Milton could not come up with a reply to that.

After clicking on the mouse and hit 'send', Maryanne stretched her body and finally looked back at Milton. "I'll return the laptop to you. Don't worry, I won't touch your things anymore."

Seeing that she was being serious, Milton's eyes widened in anxiety. "Maryanne, I knew my attitude earlier was horrible, but that's because my email contains something very important. That's why I had such a strong reaction. I... I'm sorry... can you forgive me?"

After ignoring him for half an hour, the rage in Maryanne's heart had long been extinguished. And when she heard his apology, she nodded and said, "Just don't be so indiscriminate." "I promise!" Milton did not notice his nervous tone when he said, "I promise I won't wrongly accuse you anymore."

Maryanne was easy to coo, and Milton realized that she already had a grin on her face just as he finished speaking.

"Why is she so easily coaxed?" Milton could not help thinking.
