"Dad... I didn't!" Abner got anxious and became faster as he spoke.

Sawyer's gaze swept over Abner's arm before coming to Sissi's face. "Sissi, I told you to let him go first."

Sissi was shocked by his sudden change of tone so she released Abner reflexively.

The moment Abner was set free, he immediately rushed towards Sawyer. He hugged his thigh and started humming, "Dad, I want Amelia... I want Amelia..."

Amelia again!

Sissi's heart greatly twitched twice, but she still looked at Sawyer with a pitiful look and complained, "Sawyer, as you've seen, no matter how hard I work, Abner only has Amelia in his heart!"

Sawyer checked through Abner's arm and found a spot that was bleeding after being pinched by Sissi's nails.

Abner's body was different from other children. His bleeding time would be longer, being hard to stop as well. Since The Quartley Family all had a special blood type, they had tried their best to avoid getting him injured.

Fortunately, his wound was minor, and it could be simply treated by the doctors on the island.

Thinking of this, Sawyer could no longer bother talking to Sissi. He put Abner on his arms and said, "Sissi, I'll take Abner outside to have a talk. You may go wash your face and cool yourself down."

When Sissi saw that Abner taken away after Sawyer finished speaking, her pitiful expression froze. How could he just take a leave? She thought.

Had he not noticed how sad she was? Why had he not intended to comfort her or make Abner apologize to her?

On the other side, Sawyer immediately carried Abner to the private hospital on the island after leaving the villa.

As the hospital was built to serve the residents on the island, Sawyer needed not queue up nor make an appointment. He went straight into the doctor's office, put Abner on the chair, and asked the doctor over for treatment.

After noticing the crescent wound on Abner's arm, the attending doctor asked subconsciously, "Was he scratched upon?"

Sawyer gave him a cold look. "Mind your treatment and stop bothering about others."

"Yes!" The doctor immediately kept quiet out of fear and began to disinfect Abner's wound with full attention.

After disinfection, he applied medicine for Abner and lastly bind up the wound.

Looking at the bandaged arm, the doctor sympathized with Abner as how he used to. It would not be so troublesome for others. They only had to put on band-aid or even ignore it directly. As it would be fine after a few days.

"Mr. Quartley, I've done with the treatment of the wound. If you still have any worries, you may bring him here tomorrow to let me have a look." the attending doctor said.

"Okay." After Sawyer responded, he said to Abner, "Come down yourself."

So Abner slid down from his chair and followed behind Sawyer.

After leaving the private hospital, Sawyer suddenly heard a bitter voice from behind him, "Dad, I don't want to... go back. She's so fierce! Amelia... is very gentle! I like her."

Sawyer turned around to look at the little kid behind him after he heard this and asked, "Abner, tell me, why did you fight with mom just now?"

Abner appeared to be surprised. As each time he had a conflict with Sissi, his father would always stand on Sissi's side unconditionally. He would allow Sissi to explain first, and even make him apologize without knowing the true story.

Abner secretly organized his thoughts. After making sure that he would not make Sissi be at advantage, he finally said, "Today... the question she gave me... is for students of fourth grade. I can't solve it. Then she became fierce to me and grabbed me so hard."

Sawyer pursed his thin lips when he heard this. Then, he reached out to touch the back of Abner's head, which was rare. "Abner, no matter what your mother did to you, I believe she has no ill intentions. So I hope you can understand her."

"Oh." Abner answered gloomily, obviously because Sawyer had not stood on his side.

"Also, don't mention Amelia in front of your mother ever again. She's a great taboo in your mother's heart, do you understand?" Sawyer reminded.

"Got it..." After Abner answered him insincerely, he asked hesitantly, "Dad, can I ask you... a question?"

"Yes."

"Do you hate... Amelia, or like... Amelia?"

Sawyer pulled a long face on purpose and said, "I just told you not to mention her, and you mentioned her again?" "But you didn't say... not to mention Amelia in front of you..." Abner appeared to be wronged.

"Sissi." Sawyer pulled Sissi aside and said in a low voice, "My parents are coming. Bring Abner with you upstairs to avoid them."

"What?" Sissi was stunned and quickly nodded. "Okay, I'll go now!"

When she turned around and took Abner's hand, only then she found his arm wrapped in gauze. "Abner, what happened to your arm?"

Abner was speechless. If he was not born quiet, he would probably have rolled his eyes at her.

Sissi then remembered Sawyer's order and hurriedly said, "Forget it, we'll talk about it when we get upstairs."

Abner saw that Sissi in a panic, he spoke to her, which was rare, "What... happened?"

"Your grandparents are coming." Sissi answered casually.

Abner was very surprised. His grandparents were coming! Did it mean that he could finally...

Abner secretly glanced at Sissi and an idea came to his mind.

After watching Sissi and Abner going up to the second floor, Sawyer left the villa used to hide Sissi. He then returned to the villa that he usually stayed in.

"Mr. Quartley, you're back?" No wonder Simon, the housekeeper, would ask as such. Sawyer and Abner had been living in the other villa, while he and Savannah were not allowed to serve them there. It was really strange.

Sawyer replied with a Yes' and instructed, "Simon, prepare some refreshments. Sir and Madam are coming over."

"Yes." Simon replied and went to have the servants prepare in the kitchen.
