After leaving the meeting room with Sawyer, Amelia changed her attitude drastically and said with an impatient tone, "Speak."
Sawyer turned around and looked at her, "I owe you before, but it was wrote off now."
Amelia stunned for a moment, and then she asked, "Do you mean that you took the initiative to terminate the cooperation with Apex Construction Corporation in order to make up for what you owe me?"
"That's right." Sawyer admitted.
Amelia said sarcastically, "I didn't expect you will honour your debt. I thought all you know were taking advantage of others to achieve your own goals."
Sawyer's lips lightly pressed together. "You used Kaiden to approach me, I used you to attack Patrick and Florence. We are equal, but the only thing I owe you is that I force you to threaten Patrick and hand over the evidence I left behind."
Amelia did not intend to take it seriously, but since he started, she would sort it out with him. "You owe me more than one."
"Oh?"
"I kept Sissi's secret from Uncle Quartley and the others."
Sawyer stunned for a moment, then he said, "...but they already know."
Amelia sneered and said, "Don't think you can take advantage of me. It was Abner who divulged Sissi's tracks. I have nothing to do with it. But, if you insist that it was me who incited Abner, fine then."
Sawyer's eyes narrowed as he thought, "What a glib."
"That's enough!" Looking at this face in front of her make Amelia thought of Jessica and her past. Which made her lose interest to continue talking with him. She waved her hand impatiently and said, "If there is nothing else, you can leave."
Sawyer's expression suddenly turned livid with this. One had to know that the last person who shown a sign of disrespect to him was already a dead body!
After glancing around her pretty little face, Sawyer asked thoughtfully, "Miss Amelia Ramsay, did I offended you?"
Amelia, who was annoyed, blurted out, "You existence offended me, especially those bad things you've done before!"
Sawyer asked again, "Could it be that Miss Amelia
Ramsay paid special attention to me?"
Amelia gasped slightly. She really could not help but want to get justice for Jessica!
If there was a knife right now, she might stab Sawyer in the stomach to let him experience the pain of lying on the operating table!
It was probably because she did not hide her murdurous well that Sawyer took a step back and prepared to fight or flee.
Amelia believed that once she acted rashly, he could subdue her in an instant.
After a meaningful silence, she calmed down and said, "I was talking nonsense. Don't take it to heart."
Sawyer raised his eyebrows and asked doubtfully, "Is that so?"
"Yes." Amelia tried her best to stay calm and said, "I have something else to do, you may leave now."
The moment she turned around, Sawyer's mellow voice suddenly caught up to her-
"As a gift for you to kept Sissi's secret, I will do one last thing for you."
"What thing..." Before Amelia could ask further, Sawyer turned around and left.
Amelia could not help shouting at his back, "I don't need you to do anything for me! Do you hear me?!"
Sawyer, however, seemed as if he did not hear her words as he walked away.
When Sawyer's assistant saw that Amelia came back alone, she hurriedly asked, "Miss Amelia Ramsay, where's my master?"
Amelia said to him, "He has already left."
Sawyer's assistant quickly picked up the briefcase and hurriedly said, "Then I'll leave too! Mr. Wright, Miss Amelia Ramsay, goodbye!"
"Goodbye." Amelia nodded amiably at him.
"Well, let's continue the meeting!" Kaleb said with dissatisfaction.
"I'm not going to continue." Amelia refused.
Kaleb intentionally said, "Although you are no longer the acting chairman, you are still one of the shareholders of the company. It's too irresponsible to leave the board meeting!"
Amelia said sarcastically, "Sorry, I don't mean to be irresponsible, but I'm not feeling well, so I want to take leave and go home to rest for a while. I think you still have sympathy for me, right?"
"Not feeling well? Humph! Who knows if it's true or not?" Kaleb looked like he was unwilling to give up.
"Kaleb, you thought Director Ramsay is as lazy as you are?!" Jonathan could not stand it anymore.
Kaiden's heart trembled. He could not help saying sourly, "After a closer look, it's actually not that good..."
Amelia was too lazy to confront him with his contradictory statement. He focused on the present business. "Kaiden, how's the thing I asked you to do?"
Kaiden did not have time to be jealous of Patrick. "I have already designed all the details of the plan. The original draft is in my house. I guarantee that no one will see it!"
"Great, then I will find a time to get it from your home as soon as possible, okay?" After all, it was a request for help, so Amelia did not dare to ask him to deliver over.
Kaiden's heart fluctuated with this. "Well, you can come to my place at any time!"
Although he said that, he really hoped that Amelia could come to him in the evening, so that he could take her to a candlelit dinner, enjoy the night scenery by the river, and finally take her home to spend the night...
Kaiden was enchanted with some thoughts, so Amelia could not help but wave in front of him. "Kaiden, what's wrong with you?"
The moment Kaiden came back to himself, he saw Amelia's clear eyes. He suddenly calmed down and felt lonely. She had never been in love with him. How could she understand him at all?
Thinking of this, he turned his face away sadly and asked, "Do you still remember my address, you do right?"
Amelia thought for a moment and said, "Don't worry, I remembered."
"Then I'll wait for you." After Kaiden finished, he could not help peeping at her. "Where are you going now? I'll give you a ride."
Amelia shook her head and said, "No, Mr. Hopper is waiting for me in the office. I will go to him right after this."
Kaiden felt like he had just lost his final hope. He pursed his lips and looked sad.
Amelia looked at this boy in front of him. In fact, she no longer blamed him and did not want him to feel guilty. So she said, "Kaiden, you're a very nice person."
Because of her words, Kaiden's eyes instantly lit up.
However, Amelia's next words hurt him again. "However, you don't have to waste time on me anymore, because I have already forgiven you."
He said angrily and anxiously, "You can refuse to accept my kindness, but you can't stop me from being nice to you!"
Amelia patiently guided, "I think you've misunderstood what I meant. I just want to keep a good friendship between us. Do you understand?"
When Kaiden heard that they could still be friends instead of a total stranger, he finally calmed down. "In fact, I didn't ask for anything from you. I just want to have more interaction with you. You are the first woman who makes me feel no hate, no trouble, and no resistant. Every time I stay with you, I feel that I am a normal man."
