Amelia said, "Jessica is much better now, but she hasn't fully recovered yet. I hope to make her feel completely well before letting her leave. Also, I don't want her to live in the previous house anymore as I'm worried about their safety."
Patrick put his hand behind his neck and said with envy, "You're so good to her." To the point that he was jealous.
"She's my friend." Amelia lay on his chest and coaxed him. "Mr. Hopper, I know you may feel bad and I'm sorry about that. When Jessica and Sierra return, we'll have time for only the two of us. I promise I'll make it up to you."
"Really?"
"Yes!"
"Fine." Patrick reluctantly agreed and secretly decided to let Wayne find Jessica a safe place to stay so that the woman would not refuse to leave.
"Mr. Hopper, you're the best!" Receiving consent, Amelia kissed him on the cheek happily.
Patrick was about to kiss her back when Sierra's sobbing came from the baby's bed. So Amelia immediately got away from him and got out of bed to coax the little fellow. He was so angry that he really wanted to go back on what he had just promised.
After helping Sierra brush her teeth and wash her face, Amelia carried her into Jessica's room.
As if their hearts were linked, Jessica woke up as soon as they entered.
The moment she saw Sierra, Jessica was obviously excited while Sierra kept calling her mom as well. It made Amelia could not help but sigh. She quickly sent the little fellow to Jessica's arms to let them reunite.
"Sierra... Sierra..." Jessica caressed Sierra's soft hair and turned her face to touch their foreheads together. She seemed to be holding a treasure that she had regained after losing it.
Jessica's tears fell along Sierra's forehead onto her face. As if being affected by her mother's sorrow, Sierra suddenly began to cry as well.
For a moment, the room was filled with crying. It made Amelia, who was standing aside, feel funny yet helpless.
After tidying himself up, Patrick passed by the door and heard the terrible cries coming from inside. He quickened his pace in silence.
Tsk, it was really troublesome once women started to gather.
Amelia had a difficult time to have coaxed the mother and daughter. She then checked the temperature of Jessica. After confirming that the fever had subsided, she said, "Jessica, let's go downstairs to have breakfast together."
"Okay!" Jessica agreed without hesitation. She wanted to take this opportunity to thank Patrick.
"Then wash up first and I'll make breakfast." Amelia touched the back of Sierra's head and smiled at Jessica. "While Sierra shall stay here and accompany you."
Downstairs, in the kitchen.
After skillfully breaking several eggs into the pan, Patrick started to fry eggs. Compared with his previous mess while being hurt by the splashing oil time to time, he was able to cope with it calmly.
The principle of his response was to act like a professional chef. Even if he was splashed with oil, he would not take a step back nor complain!
"Hiss..."
Sh*t! He got scalded again!
Amelia's footsteps were getting closer from behind. Patrick wiped the oil on the back of his hand with a rag in a hurry and then pretended that nothing had happened. He turned his head and said to her smugly, "Amy, does my fried egg look golden and beautiful?"
Amelia discovered that there were red marks on Patrick's hand. She could not help but feel sorry for him, "Mr. Hopper, you have been scalded and there left many red marks."
After a trace of embarrassment flashed on his handsome face, Patrick pretended to care less and said, "It's not a big deal. I'm a man. It doesn't hurt!"
"You can't say that." Amelia lowered her head and blew gently on his red marks. After a while, she raised her head and asked, "Do you feel little cooler?"
Patrick looked at her blankly. Such sour and sweet feeling was too torturous. He wanted to continue flirting with her, but also to directly kiss her...
"What's wrong? Have your mind frozen?" Amelia got shy by his stare so she could not help but reach out and wave in front of him.
Patrick regained his senses and said, "Yes, it's cool. You are really considerate, Amy."
Amelia smiled and said, "Well, let's keep going. Jessica will come down and have breakfast with us later."
Patrick just said "yes" without much response.
After half an hour of work, Patrick and Amelia served the breakfast to the dining table. Then
Amelia called softly, "Jessica, breakfast's ready!"
In fact, Jessica had not wanted to be idle. She had wanted to help in the kitchen, but of course Amelia did not agree. She immediately shooed her to feed Sierra milk.
After sitting down at the table. Jessica came straight to the point and said to Patrick, "Mr. Patrick, apart from thanking Amelia, I have to thank you for making me able to come back alive!"
Patrick raised his eyes. "Don't get me wrong. I sent men to save you just because of Amy."
"Are you trying to make me... run away?" asked Jessica.
Amelia said, "I just hope that you can live peacefully with Sierra."
Jessica subconsciously turned to look at Sierra. The kid was at an age to know nothing about the outside world. Regardless of whether to confront Sawyer with her or taking her to leave their hometown, she felt extremely apologetic towards her child.
She blinked her slightly sore eyes and turned her head to Amelia, "As Sawyer is unaware of Sierra's appearance at the moment, do you think she'll be fine if I send her to the orphanage?"
Amelia's heart clenched. "Can you really let go of her? Even if you can, she has been abandoned by her biological parents at a young age. Now that she has learned to call Mom and Dad, can you really have the heart to abandon her again?"
"But even if I bring her to escape, it's still uncertain whether I can live a peaceful life. If I can't even protect myself, can I really have the ability to protect others?"
All of a sudden, Jessica felt very remorseful to have not thought deeply about Sierra's future when she took revenge on Sawyer...
As for leaving Sierra to be taken care by Amelia, Jessica would not be able to make such request no matter what. Not only was it because she had owed her too much, but also because Amelia could not explain to the public about Sierra's background. And Sawyer would eventually start to suspect Sierra.
"Jessica, don't decide so quickly. We still have time. Let's think of a perfect plan together, alright?" Amelia knew that it was normal to split hairs when facing trouble. If Jessica truly decided to abandon Sierra, she would definitely regret it in the future.
Jessica clenched her fists. "I should have just stabbed the bad guy deeper!"
"Mr. Hopper said that even if Sawyer was lucky enough to survive this time, his must be greatly exhausted. While still having to concern about Sissi's miscarriage, he should be anxiously settling her down before considering the revenge."
"Oh, his love for her is deep indeed." Jessica showed an expression of disgust. "Do all men love women who are weak? The woman actually fell and couldn't get up after I knocked her from behind. I really didn't expect Sawyer to have actually fallen for such a woman."
Amelia also sneered, "Women who act to be weak are born to be attractive to men. Sissi is one of them. Back then, she made Patrick to protect her willingly, while she acted as a victim, which was really disgusting!"
Jessica chuckled. "She should be lying in Sawyer's arms right now, sobbingly complaining how I treated her cruelly, right?"
Amelia said with irony, "Of course, it's her specialty anyway."
In fact, they had guessed it completely correct. After Sissi woke up on the plane, she immediately leaned on the man's arm beside her and started to cry sadly.
Looking at her beautiful tearful face, men with poor willpower must have even had their hearts melted.
Exhausted, Sawyer opened his eyes and said in a hoarse voice to Sissi who was crying non-stop, "Sissi, don't cry, it's okay."
