"Oh my! Is Roselynn's child bewitched?!"
Rebecca, who was sitting in front of the TV, could not help but exclaim when she saw Patrick being stabbed by the bride.
Derrick's gaze also froze. He stared at the cold face of 'Amelia' on TV which seemed to be inhuman, and constantly felt strange in his heart.
Finally, he could not help saying, "Call The Ramsay Family immediately and ask them what actually happened!"
The chaos had not ended...
The public continued to pay attention to the bloody wedding. They were most concerned about Patrick's life because it would directly affect the trend of the Roxxon Corporation's stock on the next day.
Fortunately, Patrick accepted a media interview quickly right in the hospital.
During the shoot, he was wearing a black shirt leaning on the hospital bed, successfully hiding his injury. He had even put on make up, so he would not look like he was seriously injured and about to die as spread by the rumour. While facing the question of "what happened to the bride",
Patrick who used to be frank to the reporters, did not reveal anything.
He could not turn the real Amelia into a lunatic through description. It indeed seemed to be the only reasonable explanation.
Amelia, who was adopted by The Ramsay Family from the orphanage, was actually suffering from hereditary mental illness. She had fallen sick unfortunately which caused the sudden attack at the wedding.
That was the script that Gramps Hopper had prepared for him. All of them had supported him to announce it as such to the public.
But in this way, what about Amy?
"We can hide Amelia up for a period of time after we find her and tell the public that she is receiving treatment. When the time comes, we will announce that her treatment is over and she has recovered. What do you think?" Gramps Hopper suggested.
It was a good idea, but he still felt that it was not appropriate. Amy was not really lunatic. Moreover, she was pregnant with his child. He did not want the possible label from the public as a "little lunatic" at the birth of their child.
"Gramps, I'm not going to say that." He refused.
Granny Hopper sighed, "Patrick, don't be wilful.
Your gramps has suggested for the sake of the overall situation."
"True..." The rest persuaded him as well.
"I know. But I can't accept it. I don't agree." He insisted.
"You!" Gramps Hopper's eyes widened.
Patrick refused to back down and said, "If you insist on forcing me to say that, I'll lie in bed and pretend to be dead. You can go talk to the reporters yourselves."
Everyone was choked.
For the moment, it would not work well for anyone to deal with the reporters, except for Patrick himself. Because even news such as Patrick's death had already been spread among the public. He must personally show up to break the rumor.
"Then whatever!" Gramps Hopper gave in with a long face.
Hence, there came a stalemate between Patrick and the journalist regarding the question concerning the bride. Finally, Patrick promised that he would personally tell the truth later while asking the public to rest assured.
The next second, the doctor and nurse rushed in, claiming that they had to have a check on Patrick and so the reporters were driven out.
Of course, it was all planned by Gramps Hopper.
After the reporters left, Patrick slipped back into bed and lay down with the doctor's help. He felt an intense pain on his stitched wound as the anesthetic had lost effect. He could not bear to reach out and cover his chest, badly wanting to cut Sawyer into pieces.
While outside the ward was a different world.
Owen continued looking for Sawyer's whereabouts. Unfortunately, Sawyer had left Northville for some time.
Owen led the team to Streams Villa and found that there was no trace of the owner except for the servants, doctors, nurses, housekeepers, and nannies.
Facing the arrival of policemen who looked fierce, Simon asked with worry and suspicion, "Officer, did anything happen to Mr. Quartley?"
All the servants including Simon and Savannah, as well as some doctors and nurses on the island were gathered in the spacious living room by the police. They were surrounded by four mobile cameras used to record their expressions.
Owen looked at all of them closely before turning his head to answer Simon's question. "Sawyer is involved in a kidnapping case and is currently being wanted nationwide. If there's any news about him, I suggest that you contact the police immediately. Otherwise, you will be sentenced to the same crime."
His words immediately caused a great chaos in the living room. The four mobile cameras had recorded their expressions in detail, so that Owen could analyze whether they knew about Sawyer's kidnap of Amelia.
At the moment, an agitated voice sounded with strong dissatisfaction. "It's impossible! Given Mr. Sawyer's identity, how can he be involved in crime? It's more likely if he's the one being kidnapped instead!"
Owen looked over and found that it was a middle-aged woman who was speaking. The woman was staring at him indignantly that she did not notice the old butler who was desperately glancing at her.
Owen asked faintly, "What's your name?"
The woman continued to say in dissatisfaction, "Savannah."
She began to think about the cause and effect. The woman who had attacked her was brought by Eve. So should she be locked up by Eve at the moment?
However, would it not affect the wedding of her and Mr. Hopper?
Eve and the woman she brought were the only two she had contact with in the lounge. So presumably, Mr. Hopper would soon find out that her going missing had something to do with Eve.
In that case, Mr. Hopper and the others should be able to find her soon, right?
Amelia thought optimistically.
While she was frowning in thought, looking calm and quiet, a man in another room was looking at her through the monitor.
Tsk, should she be wordless or heartless?
The man was staring at Amelia in the monitor with his black eyes full of interest while tapping his fingertips on the armrest of the chair.
Two days later.
In the ward, Patrick's eyes darkened when he heard Owen's feedback. "Is there still no news?" "Yes, I'm sorry." Owen was in low spirits as well.
"Cheer up!" Patrick comforted him, "Since we can't find Sawyer's whereabouts within the country, then the possibility of him escaping abroad is high. It's absolutely possible as well, given his financial and material resources."
"Him escaping abroad is precisely what I'm worried about." Owen added, "Sawyer has been working on drugs and weapon trade with foreign criminal gangs in the recent years. So it's really easy for him to find a foreign place to hide."
After a moment of silence, Patrick said, "Perhaps, this can be a breakthrough instead?"
Owen responded softly, "Hmm?"
Patrick narrowed his eyes. "Owen, if you were Sawyer, would you still continue your business after fleeing overseas?"
"I may not, but Sawyer might continue." Owen differentiated clearly.
His personality was always cautious, so he would not. However, Sawyer was so confident to the point that he was almost arrogant. While he had focused his development in abroad recently, he might be unable to restrain himself and continue to engage in illegal transactions.
After listening to Owen's analysis, Patrick nodded. "Then spread the 'force' to various foreign gangs and we may be able to find out the information of
Sawyer trading with them."
In the end, he added, "However, based on my understanding of him, he should be very disappointed after learning that I am 'fine'. Who knows, he might be planning on using Amy to destroy me."
